Job Summary
Purdue University's Department of Career Success seeks an individual to become its next Administrative Clerk (Receptionist). Career Success includes the Center for Career Opportunities (CCO) and Pre-Professional Advising (PPA). As the Administrative Clerk (Receptionist), you will be responsible for providing a variety of services including office functions, operations support, and maintaining the highest level of customer service. As the Administrative Clerk (Receptionist), you will work at the main front desk area in a student-centered environment and will often be the first point of contact for individuals and groups contacting and/or visiting the main office of the Center. Primarily, you will answer phones; answer emails; take and route messages to staff; check in students, employers, and visitors; schedule appointments and maintain calendars for career services and preprofessional advising staff; and coordinate incoming and outgoing mail. The successful candidate will bring the ability to prioritize responsibilities and effectively engage with diverse populations from both internal and external constituents to provide support to our overall career and preprofessional advising services delivery.
This is a 100% on-site position.
The salary of this position will start at $16 - $18 per hour, plus benefits
Required:
Education and Experience:High school diploma/GEDThree years of experience in customer service-related or administrative support rolesSkills:
Computer and related software skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Internet, etc.Excellent time management skills, dependability, organizational skills, attention to detailStrong oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, telephone and email etiquette, and customer service deliveryTyping, data entry, proofreading, and editing skillsAbility to handle frequent interruptions, balance varied tasks, meet deadlines, and handle confidential information with discretionPreferred:
