Greater Flint Health Coalition is seeking an experienced Project Director to join our team.

Overview:

Greater Flint Health Coalition (GFHC) is a nonprofit, collective impact organization. The GFHC functions as a neutral convener of numerous multi-sector coalitions as well as the operator of a portfolio of community-based programs focused on improving health status, increasing healthcare access and innovation, and addressing chronic disease, social determinants of health, health disparities, and a variety of emerging public health issues.

This position will be assigned as Project Director to a specialized portfolio of GFHC strategic business plan initiatives for GFHC’s Mental Health & Substance Use program. This position will oversee multi-sector partner engagement, community building, project development, implementation, and coordination of activities, grant reporting and data collection, while also coordinating evaluation activities with partner organizations. The Project Director will be responsible for outcomes documentation and publication on behalf of the GFHC and its multi-sector partner roles in the collective impact strategy. Strong communication skills will support the ability to accomplish outcome objectives.

GFHC and its Mental Health & Substance Use Task Force have developed a Community-Wide Strategy to Address the Opioid Epidemic in Flint and Genesee County, Michigan. The Project Director will oversee this project which engages community residents (adults, seniors, children, and families) most impacted by the opioid crisis via a multi-sector effort that builds and strengthens workforce capacity, utilizes upstream prevention strategies, and coordinates care, services, and community resources to improve the treatment for and prevention of opioid misuse.

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide leadership and structure to GFHC’s Mental Health & Substance Use program to achieve programmatic outcomes related to GFHC’s strategic objectives, grant and health plan contract deliverables, partnership agreements, and program work plans.

Oversee, structure, support and ensure excellence in program operations.

Manage project timelines, documentation, and deliverables while maintaining alignment with multi-sector partner objectives and grant/contract work plan requirements.

Oversee the development and maintenance of Mental Health & Substance Use program operations, training and support manuals, building a culture of compassion and excellence.

Direct and develop prevention coordinators and project managers to engage community agencies and residents in a consistent, respectful, and effective manner.

Oversee the coordination of daily operations of the community-wide opioid strategy in Genesee County with multi-sector partners.

Oversee data collection and analytics to inform community needs and project outcomes; prepare reports and share best practices with multi-sector stakeholders.

Oversee and assist with the planning, support, management, and execution of committees, task forces, and community opioid education projects.

Engage healthcare leaders, providers, physicians, practice managers, and ancillary staff with incorporating evidence-based best practices into standards of care.

Develop proposals in response to identified grant opportunities supporting the activities and initiatives of the organization’s business plan.

Support the mission, vision, values and key strategies of the Greater Flint Health Coalition.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in health or related field; Master’s degree (MPH, MHSA, or MS) is a plus, but not required.

Experience and a passion for public health programs, with an emphasis on those that address broad factors that affect the health of residents.

Demonstrated ability to manage tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively within structured and time-sensitive environments.

Characteristics required for thinking strategically, innovating, and engaging multi-sector stakeholders.

Ability to integrate a diverse skill set to improve desired program outcomes.

Mastery of computer/software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to take initiative and to work proactively, both independently and in teams.

Great passion for the mission, vision, and values of the Greater Flint Health Coalition.

Reports to:

Chief Executive Officer

Job Status:

Full Time, Salary; Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with meetings and events as required.

Compensation:

Competitive salary commensurate with experience. Benefits include paid time off, holidays, medical, vision, and dental benefits plus life & disability insurance paid 100% by employer for employee.
