The company is listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange.A brief overviewThe Project Manager / Associate Project Manager is responsible for the coordination and proactive management of ongoing active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) manufacturing campaigns for Bachem customers in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. The PM / APM reports to the Director of Project Management and liaises externally with the customers as well as internally with Bachem Sales and operations (QC, QA, Logistics, and Production) teams to ensure that the clients' milestones and deliverables are met.What you will doLead project teams (3-10 internal and additional external members) for customers and in-house R&D operationally.Act as business lead in ongoing collaborations: contract negotiations, business proposals, and forecasting, risk-sharing options.Be accountable for adhering to project scope and reaching deliverables in time by considering associated agreements/contracts with the customer.Show strong ownership for all project team deliverables.Act as go-to-person for project-related tasks, questions, and issues (in line with roles and responsibilities as defined in the PM guide).Structure, lead, and monitor activities together with the project team members by using available tools and systems.Compile accurate and fit for purpose documentation (minutes, plans, actions, summaries, strategic options, etc.) by using existing templates.Demonstrate professional written and verbal communication.Represent Bachem in project-related context towards senior and/or executive leadership of Bachem's customers.Report accurate project data in existing tools for Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Document Exchange Platforms (e.g. Salesforce, Teams).Act as business partner to Bachem senior and executive leadership to secure necessary capacity and/or support for customer projects.Recognize opportunities within project operations to expand scope of the existing collaboration and proactively take those up with the project team for presentation to the customer with the target of generating additional business.QualificationsBachelor’s degree with 6+ years of biopharma/CDMO/chemical industry experience.Masters with 4+ years of biopharma/CDMO/chemical industry experience.MSc/PhD with 2+ years of biopharma/CDMO/chemical industry experience.MBA, PMP or similar certification of advantage.2+ years of customer-facing or CMC project management experience.Some experience with different types of customers (small/biotech and large) (preferred).Basic understanding of GMP.Basic knowledge of clinical development (phases, key goals, requirements) and associated regulatory compliance/filings for drug substances.General IT skills including MS Office/Teams and MS Project.Knowing and applying Bachem specific IT tools such as Salesforce, MasterControl, SAP, or similar CRM, QA, or business tools.Capable of working independently, reliably, and efficiently under pressure.Our people are passionate about what they do, the product they sell, and the customers they serve.
