In collaboration with the Regional Director, while working autonomously, this position is responsible for planning and executing departmental strategies, engaging and communicating with influential stakeholders, and building coalitions and partnerships.This position is responsible for conducting outreach and engagement of the diplomatic and legislative community, supporting fundraising efforts, and enhancing and expanding AJC New England’s presence locally through engagement of community leaders.The Associate Director works in collaboration with the Regional Director and National AJC staff to stay abreast of news/media related to AJC priority issues helping to establish a presence locally. The Associate Director assists with the development of strategic and impactful programming, conducts publicity outreach, and ensures appropriate follow-up.The Associate Director does all this while adhering to AJC’s core values:

Respect, Teamwork, Integrity, Excellence, and Accountability.Responsibilities include:Contribute to the development and execution of the department's strategy, goals, objectives, and action planDevelop, manage, and facilitate advocacy and outreach programs, projects, initiatives, events, meetings, trainings, and/or missionsIdentify and implement new opportunities to expand departmental initiatives beyond existing programsParticipate and support the work of Boards, committees, task forces, or working groupsLeverage resources to help build awareness of and support for the AJC and department initiativesAssist with development efforts, including participation in fundraising initiatives and plans, donor outreach, providing materials for grant applications and reports, and related activitiesMaintain and manage team’s programmatic spendingCreate reports and analyze programmatic activities, metrics, and impactResearch, monitor, and report on developments, issues, and trends impacting the department and AJC prioritiesCoordinate, attend, and/or lead meetings, provide input, identify and discuss issues, and develop action plans/next stepsDevelop relationships with and engage strategic contacts, groups, and organizationsSupport the building of coalitions, partnerships, and initiatives with organizations and other external partners to further AJC’s missionAssist in representing the AJC and the department in the community, at functions, in the media, and in other public forumsIdentify, recruit, cultivate, and develop leadership prospectsCollaborate on efforts to expand and enhance the department’s presence through marketing and communications strategyQualifications:Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred)6-8+ years of related work experiencePassion for the mission, goals, and objectives of AJCCommitted to AJC’s core values: respect, teamwork, integrity, excellence, and accountabilityDemonstrates professionalism and high standards of conductAbility to work collaboratively with individuals from diverse backgroundsExcellent communication skills (written, verbal, and listening)Excellent public speaking skills with various audiences and the mediaSelf-starter with the ability to work independentlyStrong organization and time management skills, including the ability to set priorities and meet deadlinesExcellent attention to detail and follow-throughCapacity to multitask and work in a fast-paced and changing environmentCommitment to continuous learning and improvementAbility to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretionA customer service orientation and skill in establishing and strengthening relationships with stakeholdersDemonstrates excellent judgment and the ability to make appropriate decisionsSkilled in conducting thorough researchWilling and able to work outside of standard working hours, including early mornings, evenings, and/or weekendsProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Google Suite applicationsAJC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
