RESPONSIBILITIES:Oversees commercial negotiations for all direct materials ($1.3B in spend), delivering YOY cost savings, with best in class cost, quality, and service levels to over 40 production sites.Own and drive Hormel’s supplier innovation and growth agenda as it relates to raw materials and packaging in partnership with internal teams.People leader that provides strategic direction to the Direct Procurement staff, via regular 1:1 reviews to direct reports.Oversees strategic sourcing events across critical categories and collaborates with R&D, Ops, Marketing, and Sales.Defines and oversees cadence of monthly, quarterly, and annual updates to ensure compliance and manage risk.Analyze market trends and supplier data to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.Collaborates with cross functional R&D, Procurement Finance, and Cost Accounting leaders.Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier performance.Collaborate with internal partners and stakeholders to understand procurement needs.Monitor and report on procurement metrics, including cost savings and supplier performance.Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and ethical practices in procurement activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:RequiredBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; or equivalent experience.12+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or related field, with 5-7 years of experience in a leadership role.Proven track record of successfully managing procurement processes, contracts, and supplier relationships.Strong analytical skills and the ability to leverage data to drive decision-making.Exceptional leadership, negotiation and communication skills.Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.Executive presence and experience in influencing and gaining commitment from senior leadership.Proficiency in procurement software and tools; experience with ERP systems is a plus.Knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practices.Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident or have the authorization to work in the United States.

PreferredMBA in Supply Chain Management or related field.Strong financial acumen and influencing skills.Purchasing or Supply Chain certifications.

LOCATION:

Austin, MN, Global HeadquartersA comprehensive relocation package to the Austin, MN area will be offered, if required.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Travel may be necessary 10% of the time.
