Role

As part of the branch management team, the incumbent is responsible for the daily operations, customer experience, and overall performance of the assigned branch. The position requires strong leadership ability in the areas of employee development, customer relationship development, retail sales, and compliance with Bank policies, procedures, and standards. Oversees provision of a full range of services to customers, and ensures customers are provided prompt and professional service. Trains, directs, and supervises branch staff.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Manages direct reports, coordinates schedules, monitors staff performance, assists with career planning, coaches and counsels employees, and provides training. Assures compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational mission, values, policies and standards, to ensure staff are well trained in all phases of their respective duties. Appraise performance, conduct staff appraisal reviews, and provide recommendations for staff compensation, promotion, and disciplinary action, as appropriate.

Responsible for attainment of all assigned goals; deposit, lending, investment, and ancillary products and services. Prepares weekly and monthly reports which apprise executive management on the status of branch activities.

Performs daily branch opening and closing activities. Oversees cash management, daily cash usage, order and distribution, vault controls, cash and vault limits, and daily teller balancing and branch balancing. Ensures all branch transactions are balanced at the close of each day. Supervises individual accountability for the handling of cash and assists in resolving balancing problems.

Acts as a Loan Officer, processing and approving customer loans within established policies and limits. Originates and conducts closings of Home Equity products. Must demonstrate the ability to effectively manage customers, and close loans in accordance with applicable regulations and Bank standards.

Keeps abreast of internal policy, procedures, system changes, and overall developments in the banking industry. Ensures customers’ requests and inquiries are promptly resolved and handles customer complaints. Troubleshoots and resolves internal and external inquiries.

Conducts required security trainings with staff to ensure compliance and is responsible for completing and overseeing all monthly security audits and controls. Serves as primary Security Officer for the branch and responsible to ensure compliance of all regulatory and policy directives as measured by audit results.

Completes orientation of new employees in overall branch procedures. Actively participates in cross-training personnel and assures staff is kept abreast of all products and services. Performs customer service and teller duties as needed.

Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Represents the Bank through participation in various community and industry-related activities. Participates in seminars and workshops as part of the Bank’s outreach.
