JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for a wide scope of business workflows, integrations and applications that make up corporate programs. Expectations are that this individual is experienced to engage and align with business partners on the holistic strategy and requirements for corporate programs as assigned. While acting as the face of IT to the business, this individual also works with internal IT administrators and developers to transfer stakeholder requirements and professionally manage the delivery of them to the end users following best practices. This includes documentation, training, communication, and sprint planning. For some systems, conducting day-to-day maintenance and administration, report writing, system application configuration, application maintenance, troubleshooting and resolving production issues, event escalation, and training is required. Strong business analytical skills, excellent communication intelligence, a strong sense of responsibility, and drive are paramount.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Consistently meets with business stakeholders to stay aligned on corporate program roadmap, current projects, tasks, and escalations.Facilitates discussions between business stakeholders, end-users, vendors, and IT department.Hosts meetings with the governing body of stakeholders to obtain sponsorship, new requirements, and feedback.Obtains funding for changes to existing functionality and new features.Defines KPI's with business to measure corporate program success.Creates user stories based on functional business requirements and technical specifications.Breaks down workflows and integrations so that all groups can comprehend.Manages multiple tasks with competing deadlines to ensure minimal impact to functional users.Performs system tests, identifies bugs, and tracks the bugs in the product backlog.Handles escalations when required.Serves as the primary contact for end-user support when applicable.Performs application administration when applicable.Coordinates demonstrations, training, upgrades, enhancements, or fixes when applicable.Extracts data from databases or applications for analysis or reports.Creates business reports when applicable.Complies with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls and requirements.Performs other similar duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:10+ years' experience as a Business Systems Analyst for multiple products and processes in dynamic and complex environments.Bachelor's degree, related water utility field and/or equivalent relevant experience.Background in software support or utility and field operations with direct end-user contact.Excellent project management skills, excellent multi-tasking and context switching, excellent prioritization skills.Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees and management.Ability to communicate effectively; both verbally and in writing, with agencies, contractors, consultants, customers, employees, and vendors.Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office applications to create presentations, spreadsheets, and Word documents. Must be great with Excel.Ability to prepare reports and provide progress updates as needed. Good SQL skills.
PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:Experience with Atlassian Jira Software.Knowledge of SOX controls.Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Experience creating process flow diagrams.Experience writing user acceptance tests.
