DescriptionSafely and effectively perform the supervision and associated administrative duties of leading the Division Procurement Department.Compensation and Benefits$80,000 - $85,000 salary per yearMedical, dental and vision coverage offered401(k) with employer contributionPaid holidays, vacation and sick timeCompany sponsored life insuranceCompany sponsored short and long-term disabilityPet InsuranceDuties and ResponsibilitiesSupervise and direct all drivers in the Seattle Division.Work with Customer Relation Representatives to ensure customers are set up correctly in the Customer Service System.Oversee the routing for all the Seattle routes.Review and ensure that dispatching, scheduling of drivers, and maintenance of all routes is performed on a regular and timely basis.Responsible for the D.O.T program and driver files, ensuring program requirements are met and files are up to date for the Seattle Division.Communicate all vehicle-related issues to the garage supervisor.Perform driver ride-alongs and driving evaluations.Resolve and follow up on all customer-related issues.Review time cards for Seattle drivers.Approve vacation and time-off requests for the drivers.Explore possible new service areas and monitor competitor activities.Renew all procurement-related permits for the division (with the exception of the air & water board permits).Visit customers to verify quality of services, answer questions, and ensure all services are provided up to company standards.Answer after-hours emergency calls for the Seattle Procurement Department.Make raw material and trap services pricing recommendations to the General Manager.Assist with the annual budget as requested by the Division Controller.Review weekly and monthly CSS reports to verify that all routes have been completed accurately and are being run efficiently.Review driver pre-trip and post-trip inspections.Communicate any Route and Procurement Department issues to the General Manager.Safety Duties:Conduct accident investigations in cooperation with the Corporate Safety Director for Seattle area drivers.Oversee workman's compensation filing and OSHA reporting logs for the Seattle locations.Conduct formal safety educational meetings and tailgate sessions with employees for the Seattle location.Interact with others in a professional and ethical manner.Follow department and company procedures.Maintain regular attendance and punctuality, which are essential for the smooth operation of this company.Other duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the business. These responsibilities may change as business needs evolve.RequirementsKnowledge, Skills, Abilities, Professional Certifications, Education, Experience and Travel RequirementsEducation: High school diploma required with 2+ years of higher education.Experience: Minimum five years supervisory experience.Travel requirements: Less than 5% travel required.Knowledge of D.O.T. regulations and policies.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.Must be able to receive emergency call-ins and dispatch the on-call driver on weekends.CDL class A with Medical card and acceptable MVR preferred.Physical Demands/RequirementsConstantly (over 2/3):Operate computer and other office productivity machinery such as calculator, copy machine, and printer.Move throughout the office accessing files and office machinery.Communicate with customers and co-workers and exchange accurate information in-person, telephonically, and via electronic devices/e-mail.Frequently (1/3-2/3):Move, lift, push, and pull equipment and material up to 60 lbs.Walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and handle equipment to collect material.Operate electronic devices such as GPS equipment and phone/radio.Occasionally (under 1/3):Be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.Be exposed to materials that occasionally require the use of PPE such as gloves (to protect from heat).Move across wet/slippery and uneven surfaces.Electronically and manually complete logs/reports.Remain in a seated position while using arms, legs, and observation to operate a vehicle.About Baker Commodities, Inc.Baker Commodities Inc. has been in business for over 80 years.
