Position Objective

The Assistant Director of Compensation, Benefits, and HRIS is responsible for the management and administration of the college’s compensation, benefits, and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) functions. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the college’s compensation strategies, benefits programs, and HR systems are aligned with institutional goals, competitive, compliant, and effectively support the recruitment, retention, and development of faculty and staff.

Duties and Tasks (Essential Functions)

Compensation:

Develop, implement, and manage compensation structures and strategies to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness.

Conduct job evaluations, salary surveys, and market analysis to maintain a competitive compensation program.

Provide guidance on salary offers, adjustments, and other compensation-related matters.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws and regulations.

Benefits Administration:

Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plans, and other voluntary benefits.

Evaluate and recommend changes to benefits programs to ensure they remain competitive and cost-effective.

Manage relationships with benefits vendors and brokers to optimize plan offerings and service delivery.

Ensure compliance with all applicable benefits laws and regulations, including ACA, ERISA, COBRA, and FMLA.

HRIS Management:

Lead the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of the college’s HRIS to ensure efficient and accurate data management.

Collaborate with IT and other stakeholders to integrate HRIS with other systems and improve functionality.

Generate and analyze HR metrics and reports to inform strategic decision-making.

Provide training and support to HR staff and college employees on the use of HRIS.

Leadership and Collaboration:

Supervise and mentor a team of HR professionals in compensation, benefits, and HRIS functions.

Collaborate with HR leadership and other departments to align HR strategies with overall college objectives.

Participate in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in compensation, benefits, and HRIS, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role in Human Resources.

Experience in higher education or public sector HR is highly desirable.

Skills and Abilities:

Strong knowledge of compensation and benefits practices, trends, and regulatory requirements.

Proficiency in HRIS management, including system implementation and data analysis.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team.

Work Environment:

Office environment with occasional travel required.

Standard work hours, with additional hours as needed to meet deadlines.

Pay:

$95,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
