At the American Heart Association, your contribution matters, and so does your career.The American Heart Association has an opportunity for a Development Director in the Jacksonville, FL office!The Director will be leading the Leaders of Impact, Woman of Impact and Teen of Impact initiatives. This will include recruiting fundraising volunteers, securing financial contributions in support of our mission, individual donor cultivation, special event implementation and working collaboratively with internal development staff.This role will be incentive eligible.We have a fast-paced sales type of environment with the main responsibility of driving revenue in support of our mission. We offer a base salary with the potential to earn an incentive up to 25% of your base pay. The potential incentive is based on achieving certain revenue targets and triggers.The Association offers many resources to help you maintain work-life harmonization through your changing needs and life situations. To help you be successful, you will have access to Heart U, our award-winning corporate university, as well as additional training and support, locally.ResponsibilitiesDrive peer-to-peer fundraising strategies to achieve overall revenue goals. Secure financial contributions by conducting exploratory meetings and revenue generated-focused sales calls.Recruit, engage and recognize high-level volunteers for participation in local, competitive fundraising campaigns.Build powerful partnerships externally and internally.Identify and network with key donors and volunteers.Cultivate donors to increase engagement and giving.Coordinate local donor cultivation events and lead event logistics - digitally and in-person.In this role, you will report to the VP of Development and will work alongside other directors to meet the overall revenue goal for the First Coast market. Daily travel within the market is required.Qualifications2+ years of experience in professional fundraising/development or outside sales, management of special event fundraising, sales, marketing and public relations functions.Validated ability to use interpersonal skills to secure donors and attract, recruit, and lead volunteers.Demonstrated skills in written and oral communication, including large and small group presentations.Ability to apply good judgment in decision making.Possess problem-solving skills and be solution-oriented.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects.Ability to read, comprehend and analyze number goals.Ability to use social media and other digital channels.Ability to travel daily up to 30% within the First Coast market.Must have basic knowledge and skills with Microsoft Office used for word processing, email, presentations, and spreadsheets.Compensation & BenefitsThe American Heart Association invests in its people.
