The

Administrative Director of Ambulatory Surgical Operations

has a solid reporting line to the Market Associate Vice President (AVP) of Ambulatory Surgical Operations and will work with the AVP and other key stakeholders and leaders to provide ambulatory surgical services operational expertise and joint oversight of the organization's ambulatory surgical and procedural business and operations across the market. The role is jointly accountable for operationalizing and launching new facilities and organic top-line growth via increased volume, strategic service line growth in existing facilities, workforce planning and development, quality of care, patient experience, teammate engagement, and establishing provider partnerships.

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist (AHWFB) currently owns three freestanding ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) and is in the design and construction phase of two additional centers, ultimately totaling 22 potential operating rooms, 8 procedure rooms supported by approximately 450 staff FTEs with an estimated potential annual volume of 25,000 total cases across multiple services in both freestanding and Hospital Outpatient Department (HOPD) settings. Additionally, other procedural centers, including endoscopy, pain management, and cosmetic services will be phased into the oversight of the new division.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

MBA, MHA, or equivalent degree.

BSN, graduation from an accredited school of nursing and a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state or states where clinics are located highly preferred.

Minimum of two (2) years Ambulatory Surgery Center experience required.

Five (5) years health care administrative experience with progressively responsible management experience required.

Three (3) years in a management or high-level supervisory position.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION:

Certified Administrator Surgery Center (CASC) preferred.

OTHER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Accountable for the planning, development, and implementation of approved operational and capital budgets. Identifies areas of need, determines feasibility, and makes appropriate recommendations in all ASC operational areas.

Develop and facilitate surgery center goals that are congruent with institutional goals. Ensures that procedures and controls are employed by each functional area and analyzes, develops, and monitors corrective action plans to meet established fiscal goals.

Provides leadership in critical thinking, conflict management, and problem solving. Facilitates the development of policies and procedures including collaboration with medical, administrative, or service line colleagues, as appropriate.

Provides continuous quality improvement with quality 'indicators' to initiate and drive organizational change in an evolving cycle of continuous improvement.

Demonstrates organizational commitment, ethical and professional behavior by serving as a role model for AHWFB values to staff, physicians, and patients.

Initiates, develops, and maintains strong physician relationships to support top-line growth and trust in the AHWFB brand.

Collaborates with executive leadership to identify and implement best practices related to clinical quality, volume growth, and operational excellence.

Safeguards the ASC assets and ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Collaborates with physicians to exceed patient expectations and effectively builds and manages a team of high-performing clinicians.

Utilizes effective hiring and development processes to ensure a high-performing team is in place in each ASC.

Provides leadership in human resource development and management while acquiring and allocating resources for specific functions.

Provide support including (but not limited to): Medical Records, Credentialing, Admissions/Intake, Accounts Payable, Billing, Collections, Insurance Verification, Clinical Logs, and other duties as needed.
