As the Subchapter Lead, you are responsible to position Product Development Quality as a key partner to R&D to deliver product development excellence. You are responsible for ensuring that we grow and develop the appropriate skills, capabilities, and capacities to accelerate product development, drive business results and customer value by developing Quality Experts across all customer areas.Key Responsibilities to drive business results and customer value:Building a high performing team that collaborates and shares across Customer Areas, is focused on the patient, committed to Roche Operating Principles and works with a strong sense of connectivity throughout Q&R and with other functions.Ensure that Pre-Market Quality is an effective partner for development, providing outstanding service to meet internal and external requirements and expectations.Ensure that Pre-Market Quality grows and develops the appropriate skills, capabilities, and capacities to deliver on the shared priorities of the business.Establish and enhance the appropriate setup for chapter members including the required proficiency and the capacity to execute work in alignment with the strategy and customer needs.Partner with chapter members to design and optimize their personal professional journey, coaching team members to successfully navigate in a high paced work environment.Guarantee the delivery of submission-ready outputs from the development process through effective collaboration with development, regulatory and other functions.Implement shared responsibility around quality and compliance with development and other functions.Ensure that requirements from other areas, e.g., Privacy and Cybersecurity, Product Sustainability and Compliance, Environmental regulations etc., are appropriately included in product requirements.Ensure that market feedback and other quality data are included into the design process for continuous improvement of Diagnostics products.Thrive for efficiency and continuous improvement in daily work enabling project acceleration.Ensures that chapter members have the right working framework, the required proficiency and the capacity to execute work packages in alignment with the strategy.Key Responsibilities to advance the work of the organization:Assumes responsibility for developing and implementing the mid to long-term strategic focus of the chapter, with a particular focus on organizational development, capabilities, and competencies.Actively builds a culture of empowerment, collective leadership, ownership, open communication, and continuous improvement and knowledge development within the chapter.Support product development implementation of the broader Pre-Market strategy, ensuring alignment with Q&R priorities.Enable talent flow in collaboration within organizations, evaluating business needs to drive succession planning and talent management.Support annual budget, revise forecasts to meet business needs and monitor/ control expenditures to ensure efficient use of company resources.Act as role model for Agile Leadership behaviors, as well as for our culture, mindset & behaviors as defined in the Roche Operating Principles.Boldly advance diversity, equity, and inclusion so that people feel safe to learn, experiment, challenge, to contribute autonomously, and most importantly, where they feel safe to bring their full, authentic selves to work.Responsible for performance management and performance differentiation within the sub-chapter.International business travel will be required depending upon ongoing business activities.Qualifications of the position:Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is considered an advantage.Professional experience/duration: + 8 years experience in the diagnostic industry or a related field in business related function.Specialist knowledge: strong business and financial acumen with an enterprise mindset.Demonstrated success in establishing a high-performing environment with an excellent reputation for attracting top talent, developing individuals, and inspiring them.Proven ability to lead with a creative attitude, very high self-awareness, and act as a coach and mentor to other leaders and partners.Leadership Skills:You are also responsible for building, and then providing effective line-leadership, for a global team. Doing so in a manner that is consistent with the Roche Values and leadership capabilities. At the Company's discretion, an exception to the location requirement could be made under extraordinary circumstances.Relocation assistance is available for this position.The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $121,200 and $267,900. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
