Overview:

We are a Clinical Trials Software company at an exciting point in our journey and are looking for an accomplished, hands-on Head of Finance & Accounting to lead our financial & accounting strategy and support our ambitious growth plans. This role requires leveraging extensive experience and expertise to drive the development of financial planning, accounting, analysis, and strategy formation. This role also requires a very strong ‘roll up your sleeves’ mindset, as we are a lean, fast-growing startup.

The Role:

As the Head of Finance & Accounting, reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our company's financial and growth strategies. This is a strategic, high-impact position that involves working closely with each department leader to drive and pursue significant growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage all accounting functions, including the accurate & timely closing of monthly / quarterly / annual results, general ledger management, accounts payables, accounts receivables, and pay roll.

Oversee and manage financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and long-term financial planning.

Craft and execute financial strategies that align with the company's growth and profitability objectives.

Act as a key advisor to the COO, CEO and other business leaders, providing insights and recommendations for growth and profitability.

Lead the finance and accounting team, elevating its capabilities to support the company's strategic direction.

Manage tax filings, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, and work to optimize the company’s tax strategy.

Spearhead financial analysis and modeling to support decision-making across all business units.

Ensure financial & accounting compliance and integrity in all reporting and operations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree highly regarded.

CPA or similar certification desirable.

At least 10 years of finance and/or accounting experience, with a significant portion in a strategic leadership role managing a finance and/or accounting team

Proven experience in a tech or startup environment, with a deep understanding of financial principles and practices.

Exceptional analytical, financial modeling and strategic thinking skills.

Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a focus on team development and cross-functional collaboration.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial strategies to diverse stakeholders.

Experience working directly with external investors and/or the board of a company a plus

A proven track record of success as a CFO or senior financial leader in a high-growth company

Experience implementing accounting software and enhancing operational efficiency
