Seeking a skilled/experience Head of Finance and Accounting, preferably from the Food/Beverage Industry.This is a Direct Hire opportunity with a starting salary of $150/K, but very flexible on salary and open to paying more for the right person.Our company has a headquarters in the Houston, TX area. Financial Strategy & Leadership

Strategic Planning: Develop and implement the financial strategy to support the company's short and long-term vision and goals. Collaborate with the CEO to align financial strategies with business objectives.Business Partnering: Act as a strategic advisor to the executive team, providing insights and recommendations on financial matters that impact overall business strategy.Organizational Leadership: Provide visionary leadership to the finance and accounting teams, promoting a culture of integrity, performance excellence, and continuous improvement.Accounting & Reporting

Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), or other relevant standards.Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and accounting standards, maintaining transparency and accountability in financial reporting.Audit Management: Coordinate and manage external audits, ensuring timely and accurate completion of audits and addressing any issues raised by auditors.Financial Planning & Analysis

Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing financial forecasting. Develop detailed financial models to support strategic initiatives and investment decisions.Performance Analysis: Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, analyzing variances and providing actionable insights to optimize financial outcomes.Scenario Planning: Conduct scenario analyses to evaluate the potential impact of strategic decisions and market changes on the company's financial health.Risk Management & Compliance

Internal Controls: Implement and maintain robust internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.Risk Assessment: Identify and evaluate financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate those risks. Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.Tax Strategy: Oversee tax planning and compliance, including corporate tax returns, tax filings, and strategies to optimize tax position.Team Development & Management

Talent Management: Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing finance team. Set clear performance goals, provide coaching, and support career development opportunities.Operational Oversight: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance and accounting departments, ensuring efficient and effective processes.Culture Building: Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting professional growth and team engagement.Operational Efficiency

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.Technology Utilization: Leverage financial technology and systems to automate processes, improve reporting accuracy, and support decision-making.What are we looking for?

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field is required. An MBA or advanced degree in finance or business is a plus.Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional certification is a plus.At least 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, including a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership or executive role.Proven track record in financial planning, analysis, and reporting within a complex business environment.Experience in managing large teams and working collaboratively with senior executives and board members.Deep knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and financial management practices.Proven track record in conducting financial analysis, due diligence, and valuation of investment opportunities.Experience in structuring and negotiating private equity transactions is required.Demonstrated ability to manage and optimize portfolio company performance.Strong background in preparing investment reports and engaging with investors.Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with a focus on developing and mentoring talent.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely to stakeholders at all levels.Proficiency in financial software systems, ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills.For a faster response, please email your resume to me directly and let me know why you feel you are the perfect fit for this role!
