Security Engineer- Cincinnati Area, KY Decatur, IL
This is a salaried exempt position.
Position Summary:
Under general supervision engineer, implement, and maintain effective methods to protect ADM systems and data. Use and establish procedures to consistently build and deploy secure solutions, such as security tools and business systems. Collaborate with IT, and other business functions to provide recommendations of operational and technical solutions to enable the business and maintain the security posture to appropriate risk levels.
Must display Passion and interest in Information Security and draw recommendations based on real world experience!
Job Responsibilities:
As a senior member of the team, you will have the opportunity to lead and mentor a team of security engineers, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
Designing, building, deploying, and administering complex security tools.
Responsible for automating security controls, data, and processes to provide improved metrics and efficient operational support.
Provide subject matter expertise and feedback on information security architecture and systems engineering to other IT and business teams.
Identify processes/procedures for how to handle security events, including isolation and mitigation with Threat Intel and Incident Response teams.
Responsible for creation and maintenance of the complete and accurate technical documentation of security services and solutions.
Apply adept understanding and experience with systems automation platforms and technologies.
Contribute to efforts that shape the organization’s security policies and standards for use in both on prem and cloud environments.
Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to deliver creative solutions to complex global, technology challenges and business requirements.
Recognize deficiencies in the ADM environment and recommend and execute new security technologies and best practices into Cloud offerings.
Keeping informed of emerging solutions and security capabilities to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks.
Interface within the broader Information Security function to help craft and implement security improvements.
Anticipates problems and identifies long-term implications of decisions and actions.
Job Requirements:
5+ years’ experience in Information Security, including experience with security principles, and defense-in-depth techniques.
Direct experience in developing security policies, standards, and procedures that align with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
Direct Experience with, in-depth understanding of, and the ability to align security controls defined in frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS, as well as other relevant frameworks that guide governance processes.
Direct experience delivering system security through ITIL processes, such as Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, and Service Level Management.
Direct experience implementing and supporting native and 3rd party Security capabilities, process, platforms and integrations.
Hands on experience designing, building, deploying, and administering complex security tools in physical and virtual environments.
Ability to identify potential problems and recommending solutions to mitigate.
Ability to recognize opportunity to transform repetitive tasks into automation.
Strong security experience related to concepts of least privilege, risk management, zero trust, data centric, access controls, and segmentation.
Functional knowledge of network routing, authentication, cloud, layered security approaches, and DDOS mitigation technologies.
Strong experience with Microsoft Entra, Defender for O365, Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Identity, WDAC.
Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with other team members in a geographic and culturally diverse workforce.
Expected to complete projects within specified deadlines.
Expected to work occasional nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
Expected to perform on-call duties.
Occasional Travel may be required.
Solid sense of integrity and ethics.
Desired Skills:
Bachelors’ degree or equivalent work experience.
Current holder of Security Certifications and Information Technology Certifications.
Security project management experience.
Strong organizational and communications skills
