Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced SAP Financials Functional Consultant to support the Department of the Navy (DON) Financial Improvement Program (FIP) Navy ERP PMO. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SAP Financials, including expertise in configuring and optimizing SAP Financial (FI) and Controlling (CO) modules. This role involves working closely with stakeholders to analyze business requirements, develop functional specifications, and deliver solutions that support the Navy ERP program's financial operations. An active Secret Clearance is required, and the preferred location for this position is the Washington, D.C. area.
Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary SAP Financials Functional Consultant for the Navy ERP PMO within the DON FIP, focusing on the SAP FI/CO modules.
·
Gather, analyze, and document business requirements from stakeholders and translate them into functional specifications.
·
Configure SAP Financials modules (FI/CO) to meet business process requirements, ensuring alignment with DON FIP program goals.
·
Develop and execute functional test plans, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing, to validate solutions.
·
Provide functional expertise and guidance on SAP Financials processes, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting (AA), Controlling (CO), and Cost Center Accounting (CCA).
·
Conduct workshops, training sessions, and knowledge transfer activities for end-users and stakeholders to ensure effective adoption of SAP solutions.
·
Collaborate with technical consultants to ensure successful integration, data migration, and interface development within the Navy ERP system.
·
Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations.
·
Develop and maintain comprehensive functional documentation, including business process flows, configuration guides, and user manuals.
·
Ensure compliance with DoD, Navy, and SAP best practices, standards, and policies.
Requirements
·
Clearance : Active Secret Clearance is required.
·
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
o
Minimum of 3 years of experience as an SAP Functional Consultant, with a focus on SAP Financials (FI/CO).
o
Experience supporting Navy ERP or other DoD ERP systems is highly desirable.
o
Strong experience in SAP FI/CO configuration, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Controlling, and Cost Center Accounting.
o
In-depth understanding of financial and accounting business processes, particularly within government or defense organizations.
o
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and business process optimization skills.
o
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
o
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
o
Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, SAP Fiori, and other relevant SAP technologies is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with SAP S/4HANA implementation or migration projects.
·
SAP certification(s) in Financial Accounting, Controlling, or related areas.
·
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools for project management.
