*The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for annual bonus and annual merit increase. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors.

How You'll Perform the RoleThe Maintenance Manager is responsible for safety, quality and productivity on all machinery and facilities, as well as the execution of the Preventative Maintenance Program.

Provide leadership and direction to the Maintenance Team for day to day activities, and inspire high performance through effective goal setting and performance measurementProperly identify failed or worn components and utilize available resources to obtain replacementsEffectively coordinate, plan and execute the Preventive Maintenance ProgramResponsible for all facility-related equipment and systems: electric utility, air compressors, boiler, hazardous wastePrioritize and complete assigned maintenance tasks and delegate to subordinatesEnsure maintenance employees are following safe work practices and procedures consistently and completelyMonitor and control maintenance operating costsReview repairs for quality or workmanshipImprove existing equipment to improve efficiency or reduce costsCoordinate outside contractor work from bid acquisition to constructionInteract with outside machine shops to fabricate machine partsCoordinate plant projects, design and development, overhauls, machine relocations, etc.Coordinate with production manager, machine modifications to improve productivityAssist in safety program implementation and enforcementParticipate in accident investigations, and assist with environmental issuesDevelopment and implementation of machine guarding systemsParticipate in conducting required annual training of plant personnel (lockout/tagout, confined space, fire extinguisher, Hazmat, etc.)Liaison for State or Federal Inspectors, Local Fire Department & Insurance inspections, including annual boiler inspectionsRegular contact with employees from production, printing, administrative, and maintenance departments. Contact with outside contractors, insurance companies, regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, AIB, ASI), water and sewer departments, (city) utility companies, fire marshal and vendors on an as needed basis or by direction of the Plant Manager

What We Need From YouMinimum of High School Diploma or GED required5+ years plant maintenance work experience is requiredSuccessful supervisory experience and draftsman experience requiredRequires an individual with excellent knowledge of machinery, manufacturing equipment and building maintenanceKnowledge of printing and paper converting machinery, conveyers, hydraulics, pneumatics and lubrication preferredMust be able to calculate gear ratios, pitch, etc. and be able to operate all machine shop equipment (welders, grinders, lathes, cutting equipment, etc.)Knowledge of the application of Lean Manufacturing, TPM and 5S methodsComputer literate in MS applications: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPointStrong ability to properly diagnose electrical component failures and provide solutionsBasic PLC and VFD experienceExpert level experience in LOTO systems required
