The Materials Specialist maintains the warehouse and stores stock with the Aircraft Maintenance Department in all Material Operations to ensure adequate supply of materials.Perform data entry into the computer inventory system to include locating, issuing, receiving, and shipping of materials.Load aircraft tires, brakes, and related aircraft parts and materials.Perform inventory audits, inspections, and reconciliations of materials based on direction from leadership.Monitor and update stock items, minimum and maximum stock levels, and coordinates stock level adjustments with Aircraft Maintenance, Purchasing, and/or other departments within the Company.Other duties as assigned.Minimum Experience and QualificationsHigh School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) DiplomaOne (1) year of experience with data entry or inventory managementPass and maintain rating and be able to drive forklifts (4 (four) K to 18 (eighteen) K) tugs, trucks, and other vehiclesAbility to use handheld two-way radios, headsets and/or phoneAbility to work flexible shifts, travel and/or work variable hours including holiday and weekendsSuccessfully pass the Materials and General Maintenance Manual (GMM) training coursesSuccessfully pass Hazmat Awareness courseMust be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge for all Blue Material citiesStrong interpersonal and listening skillsComplete fluency in written and spoken EnglishDepending on location, may need to acquire and maintain a United States Customs ClearanceAvailable for overnight travel (50%)Depending on location you may be required to pass an International Air Transport Association (IATA) or Department of Transportation (DOT) approved Hazardous Material Training Course and maintain recurrent training of the coursePossess and maintain a valid Driver License and a driving record that meets JetBlue Airways’ insurance standardsValid travel documents with the ability to travel in and out of the United StatesMust pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug testMust be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is locatedAuthorization to work in the US is required, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorshipPreferred Experience and QualificationsOne (1) year of warehouse experienceRegular attendance and punctualityPotential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-noticeAble to maintain a professional appearanceWhen working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraftMust be appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and FunPromote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standardsIdentify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controlsUphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilitiesEquipment:Computer and other office equipmentInventory Control System, i.e. TRAXAll types of Ground Support Equipment: trucks, tugs, box truck, forklifts, (all types up to 35K)Small and large weighing scalesPart storage system equipmentOther equipment when needed in support of logistics and aircraft supportWork may be outdoors with seasonal weatherAble to work irregular shifts (i.e, midnight, days, weekends, and holidays)Work outdoors on the aircraft ramp side and/or the hangar with elevated noise levelsElevated noise levels in terminal area and outdoor conditionsOn call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in support of the stations for which they hold responsibilitiesPhysical Effort:Position requires strenuous physical work.
