The Operations Director at IMS is responsible for managing and supporting the commercial service operations, which encompass Plumbing, Controls, Preventative Maintenance, HVAC, and Projects. This role involves overseeing and directing the day-to-day activities of all units to ensure smooth operations. The primary objective is to achieve customer satisfaction by meeting established department goals and objectives, providing strong leadership to all operations teams. The role requires a strong business acumen, leveraging key metrics, trends, and business principles to drive operational efficiency and profitability. To succeed, the Operations Director must be proficient in analyzing financial statements and other metrics to develop effective strategies based on data insights. A numbers-driven approach is essential to ensure that decisions are supported by quantitative analysis, aligning with operational goals and business objectives.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESLeadership & ManagementOversee daily activities of IMS operations, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to managers of all operations units.Work with managers to develop consistent learning opportunities for apprentices.Conduct regular performance reviews and provide meaningful feedback.Promote continuous improvement and professional development.Ensure all team members adhere to quality and safety standards.Customer ServiceResolve customer inquiries and complaints in a prompt and professional manner.Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by fostering and maintaining strong customer relationships.Develop effective methods for gauging and improving customer satisfaction.Provide technical support and guidance to customers and technicians.Collaboration and CommunicationWork closely with other departments, including finance and sales to ensure alignment with goals and objectives.Communicate effectively with internal and external customers with focus on fostering a positive and productive team and customer experience.Operational Oversight and ExcellenceMonitor and evaluate the performance of the service units.Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and productivity.Ensure timely and accurate completion of service reports and documentation.Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and improve service performance.Technical ExpertiseStay updated with industry trends and advancements in HVAC technology.Provide hands-on support and training to technicians as needed.Troubleshoot complex HVAC issues and recommend effective solutions.Qualifications

Experience required in at least one of the operational units managed by the position with HVAC experience being preferred.Must have ability to apply specific trade experience to all functioning units of operations. Proficiency in using HVAC diagnostic tools and service software.2 years in a managerial role preferred.Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and components.Must demonstrate exceptional emotional intelligence (EQ), including self-awareness, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills. This role requires managing relationships, fostering a positive team environment, and resolving conflicts tactfully. High EQ is essential for effective communication and understanding workplace dynamics. The ideal candidate will excel in engaging and motivating team members across all departments.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to enhance team productivity and standards of work produced.Ability to multitask and handle high-pressure situations.
