General Summary

The Assistant Vice President of Marketing and Communications leads the creative marketing vision and communications strategy and is responsible for all activities related to conceptualizing and implementing marketing strategy and internal and external communications to strengthen the Concordia Plans brand in line with organizational values. Designs marketing and communication objectives to guide and engage with internal stakeholders and vendors in providing an optimal ministry and member experience for retention and growth.

Essential Job Functions

Defines and implements marketing strategy in alignment with Concordia Plans vision, mission, and values and the mission and values of the LCMS with consideration of the long-range beneficial impact on ministries and members.

Develops and leads comprehensive organization-wide approach and processes for driving all facets of marketing to include customer mapping, digital marketing, intranet, social media, print, campaigns, and events.

Partners with leadership to develop internal communications strategy and executes to ensure integration of key strategy and value proposition messaging across the organization.

Responsible for directing the successful execution of multiple customer outreach events, including design, negotiation, logistics, data management, and evaluation.

Creates and fosters robust relationships with partner organizations across the International Center to promote, set expectations, and solicit productive feedback.

Creates and fosters strong, highly collaborative relationships across all Concordia Plans functions, ensuring marketing strategies are aligned with and supportive of other department and Concordia Plans initiatives.

Clarifies a common approach and process for driving all facets of marketing and business development across the organization to ensure success.

Establishes and analyzes marketing metrics, defining the customer relationship with a focus on continuous improvement through direction of development and on-going implementation of high impact initiatives achieving measurable results.

Creates and continuously evaluates and pivots Concordia Plans brand through creation and articulation of a cohesive brand image, position, and delivery.

Maintains awareness of competitive landscape, industry standards, trends, and best practices, leveraging within Concordia Plans for ongoing enhancement and growth.

Provides transformative leadership of internal team to coach, mentor, and develop to best utilize assets and promote a highly engaged successful team.

Leads and inspires internal stakeholders and vendors in a holistic execution of marketing and brand strategy in delivery of the optimal Concordia Plans experience, to achieve marketing goals and business objectives.

Responsible for the messaging, editorial direction, design, production, and distribution of all marketing and sales enablement materials.

Manages the marketing budget providing stewardship to control costs and ensure expenditures are value-added.

Education And Experience

Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field required; advanced degree preferred.

At least 10 years of progressive experience in both B2C and B2B marketing.

Working with cloud-based CRM, Salesforce preferred.
