We are seeking a process and execution-focused

Vice President, Growth & Strategy

to join our leadership team and drive operational excellence and organic growth across our platform.

Co-reporting directly to the Chief Development Officer with a dotted line to our Chief Operating Officer, the Vice President, Growth & Strategy will have hands-on responsibility for identifying and executing value creation initiatives that streamline processes, drive production improvements, and enhance operational efficiency to support the growth of the organization. This role requires a tactical and strategic operational leader with a solid understanding of eye care, excellent process engineering and project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively to get things done through cross-functional teams. This executive will play a critical role in shaping the future of our growing and dynamic organization dedicated to improving eye health and patient outcomes.

Develop and implement operational strategies and initiatives that align with AVP's overall business goals and growth objectives.Identify areas for operational improvement and lead efforts to optimize processes, enhance productivity, and reduce costs across the organization.Analyze and enhance clinical workflows to reduce patient wait times, improve patient throughput, and ensure a smooth patient journey from check-in to check-out.Develop and implement standardized clinical protocols and procedures to ensure consistency in patient care across all clinics within the network.Lead our organic, de-novo clinic growth and expansion efforts by utilizing market trends and analysis and managing complex new builds through a formal project management process.Implement strategies to optimize patient flow in clinics and surgical centers, reducing bottlenecks and improving the overall patient experience.Lead quality improvement initiatives focused on enhancing clinical outcomes, patient safety, and satisfaction through evidence-based practices.Develop and implement training programs for clinical staff to ensure adherence to new processes and protocols, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.Conduct regular operational efficiency audits to identify inefficiencies in clinical and administrative processes, recommending and implementing corrective actions.Optimize the utilization of clinical and administrative resources, ensuring the right allocation of staff and equipment to meet patient demand efficiently.Implement advanced scheduling systems and techniques to maximize the efficiency of provider and staff schedules, reducing downtime and increasing patient access.Identify and implement cost-saving measures in clinical and administrative operations without compromising the quality of patient care.Utilize data analytics to track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to operational efficiency, patient outcomes, and financial performance, driving continuous improvement efforts.Improve patient communication systems to streamline appointment reminders, follow-ups, and patient education, enhancing overall efficiency and patient satisfaction.Ensure all process improvements and efficiencies comply with healthcare regulations and standards, maintaining the highest level of operational integrity.Oversee and manage key operational projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and alignment with strategic priorities.Have the potential to build, mentor and lead a high-performing team of professionals, focused on operational excellence and continuous improvement.Establish performance indicators (KPIs) and benchmarks to track the effectiveness of operational initiatives and drive data-informed decision-making.Work closely with clinical, administrative, and financial teams to ensure seamless integration of operational initiatives and support cross-functional collaboration.Identify potential operational risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the stability and reliability of the platform’s operations.Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices, leveraging insights to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge in the market.Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.Proficiency in Lean Six Sigma methodologies with a certification preferred.Minimum of 5 years ophthalmology experience with strong expertise is required.Minimum of 10 years in senior operational roles, with a proven track record of driving operational excellence in ophthalmology, preferably in a private equity-backed environment.Proven track record of successfully implementing process improvements and driving operational efficiencies in a clinical setting.Operational experience in multi-site ophthalmology practice, preferably in a private-equity backed environment.Strong understanding of electronic medical records (EMR) systems and experience in optimizing EMR workflows.Expertise in data analytics and performance metrics to drive data-informed decision-making and process improvements.Strong project management skills, with experience managing complex, cross-functional projects from conception to completion.Exceptional problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.Strong understanding of healthcare accreditation standards and compliance requirements.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.Stellar interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate and build relationships with clinical, administrative, and executive teams.Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Solid understanding of financial management principles, with experience in budget management, cost reduction strategies, and financial performance analysis.Experience leveraging technology and automation to improve operational processes and enhance efficiency.Knowledge of healthcare IT systems and their application in optimizing clinical and administrative workflows.Proven experience in leading change management initiatives, with the ability to drive organizational change and foster a culture of continuous improvement.Proven experience in managing complex projects and driving change in a dynamic environment, preferably using project management tools and software.Deep understanding of the healthcare industry, specifically ophthalmology, and familiarity with regulatory requirements and best practices.Your health, happiness, and your future matter!
