A law firm is seeking a highly experienced

Senior Associate Attorney

to join its Bond Practice. The successful candidate will provide expert legal advice related to public finance, bond work, and legal financing vehicles for municipal entities. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse public finance projects, including utility financing and assessments for special districts, as well as collaborating with various legal practice groups.Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide legal advice on the formation and financing of community facilities districts, assessment districts, community services districts, municipal water districts, nonprofit corporations, and similar entities.Advise clients on the constitutional and legal constraints on public financing.Serve as bond or financing counsel for a variety of financial instruments, including:

General obligation bondsCertificates of participationLease revenue bondsSpecial tax bondsSpecial assessment bondsPrivate activity bondsIndustrial development bondsRevenue bondsWater and wastewater financingAirport financings

Collaborate with colleagues in related practice areas such as Cannabis, Code Enforcement, Economic Development, Environmental Law, Labor & Employment, Litigation, Real Estate, and Public Safety.Research and analyze complex legal issues, drafting briefs for submission to supervising attorneys.Summarize and analyze complicated legal documents, including contracts, recommending necessary modifications.Conduct discovery, including the review of electronically stored data and hard copy documents, in preparation for litigation.Perform due diligence on legal matters involving contracts and agreements.Analyze and predict potential case outcomes based on legal precedents to assess risks and liabilities for clients.Advise clients on business transactions, claim liability, prosecuting or defending lawsuits, and legal rights.Represent clients in court or before government agencies.Develop strategies and arguments to present cases effectively.Gather evidence, interview witnesses and clients, and perform legal research to support case preparation.Examine public and legal records to offer legal opinions and identify case complexities.Collaborate with attorneys in specialized legal areas to build solid bases for legal proceedings.Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates on case progress as necessary.Perform administrative and management functions related to legal practice.Supervise Legal Secretaries and Paralegals as required.Complete special projects as assigned.Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.Requirements:

Experience:

Minimum of 8+ years of related experience in public finance and bond practice.Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Certification:

Active license to practice law in the state of California.Skills:

Expertise in public finance and bond counsel practices.Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.Proficient in drafting and reviewing complex legal documents.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong negotiation, persuasion, and litigation skills.Ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities.Attention to detail for drafting accurate legal documents and case files.Proficiency in legal software, tools, and research platforms.Ability to work collaboratively across various legal practice areas.
