Head of Capital Formation - InStudio VenturesInStudio Ventures is seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Head of Capital Formation to lead our fundraising efforts and play a critical role in scaling our venture capital firm. We are an early-stage fund (Seed+, Series A) that invests in innovative sports, technology, and media companies, as well as leagues, clubs, and rights.The ideal candidate will have extensive experience raising capital for funds that invest in early-stage companies and a proven track record of building and managing relationships with family offices, high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs), and athletes. A strong network within the venture capital ecosystem is essential, and connections to the sports industry are a significant advantage. This person should possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a strategic mindset to navigate and thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.Key Responsibilities:Capital Formation and Fundraising Leadership:Develop and implement a robust fundraising strategy to accelerate assets under management (AUM) growth and support new fund launches.Cultivate relationships with family offices, HNWIs, and athletes, leveraging a strong existing network and proactively building new connections.Lead the end-to-end capital-raising process, from identifying prospects to closing commitments, ensuring a smooth and efficient process for investors.Investor Relations and Communication:Serve as the primary point of contact for potential and existing investors, fostering strong relationships and ensuring timely, clear communication on fund performance and strategies.Collaborate with the Founding Partner and the investment team to craft compelling investor narratives and value propositions.Oversee investor reporting, including the preparation and presentation of fundraising materials, due diligence documents, and ongoing communications.Pipeline Management:Build and maintain a well-organized pipeline of prospective investors, tracking interactions and progress through CRM systems and other tools.Provide regular updates on capital-raising activities and investor engagement to the Founding Partner and executive team.Market Insights and Strategy:Stay up-to-date on market trends, investor preferences, and competitive dynamics within the venture capital and sports industries.Contribute strategic insights and feedback to refine the firm’s capital formation strategy and fundraising approach.Qualifications:Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field (MBA preferred).Minimum of 8 years of experience in capital formation, investor relations, or fundraising in the venture capital or private equity space.Strong, well-established network within the VC/PE investor community, including family offices, HNWIs, and athletes.Proven track record of successfully raising capital for venture funds.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex investment strategies clearly and persuasively.Strategic, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to independently manage multiple priorities and adapt to evolving market conditions.Experience with CRM tools and investor tracking systems.Why You Might Be Excited About Us:Opportunity to significantly impact the growth and trajectory of a dynamic venture fund.Entrepreneurial and high-energy environment with significant autonomy to execute strategies and bring your own perspective.Chance to work with top athletes, industry experts, and innovative companies in sports, tech, and media.A culture that values growth, development, and collaboration.If you're passionate about sports, technology, and venture capital, and you have the skills and network to lead capital formation at InStudio Ventures, we'd love to hear from you.This is a hybrid work environment.
