Vice President, Freight Brokerage

to be based out of our head office in Dieppe, NB. As a senior member of the Midland Executive Team, this role is responsible for overseeing Midland’s freight brokerage and 3PL services. The Vice President, Freight Brokerage will work closely with the Irving Group of Companies, Midland’s sales team, and current client base to identify new business opportunities outside our core and explore strategic growth and expansion opportunities throughout North America.The Best Fit:You have a university degree with a concentration in business, logistics, or equivalent experience.You have CITT-Certified Logistics Professional (CCLP) designation or equivalent (Asset).You have 10+ years’ experience leading a team of Operations, Sales, and Administrative personnel in the Freight Brokerage industry.You have strong knowledge of the transportation, logistics, freight forwarding, LTL, TL, Courier, and warehousing industry.You have superior communication skills, ability to influence, high degree of business acumen, strategic thinking but tactical execution, self-starter, results-driven, ability to manage priorities effectively, demonstrated ability to motivate a workforce, develop a strong performance-driven leadership team, and an engaging culture.The Responsibilities:Responsible for establishing the strategic direction of the Freight Brokerage division, in partnership with the Midland executive team. This includes establishing both short and long-term goals to grow the Freight Brokerage division while delivering on performance and projected financial results. A strategic partner, working with the Midland sales team, to grow sales for non-affiliates (Rounder program).Assists, coaches, mentors, and leads the team to achieve goals and stretch targets.Oversee the development of a stable quality of carriers throughout North America to handle business outside the Midland fleet. Build and maintain networks and professional relationships with rail and intermodal service providers and ensure all carriers are compliant with the Irving requirements.Work closely with the IGM Corporate VP of Supply Chain and team to capture as much business as possible to minimize the use of outside 3 and 4PL providers.
