Responsibilities include:Transportation demand managementCapital project planningConstituent traffic and safety concernsFeasibility studiesGrant writingBicycle and pedestrian planningSustainable mobilityTransit and ride shareEmerging technologies implementationRelated dutiesThe incumbent will interact frequently with the general public, Town boards, and senior personnel from other departments. The position requires communication and coordination with transportation officials from surrounding communities and regular meeting attendance with outside organizations. The incumbent works with minimal supervision and is expected to attend select project-related meetings on weekday evenings.Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation Planning, Engineering, Public Administration, Management, Political Science, Planning or other related field (Engineering degree preferred); five to seven years of progressively responsible experience in transportation planning and municipal government; demonstrated knowledge of transportation planning, transportation infrastructure, transportation engineering, and municipal government operations; demonstrated ability to influence and gain the confidence of board members and department heads; proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software; and excellent written and oral communication skills.
