This position is eligible for up to one day remote work per week during the academic year.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Salve Compass Program is designed to bridge the gap between college and career, all while empowering every Salve student to chart a transformational educational journey with purpose. Through a series of curricular and co-curricular program elements, Salve students are challenged to design and pilot their Salve experience that will lead them towards their desired career trajectories. The learning outcomes for the Salve Compass Program are threefold: cultivating meaning, fostering community, and building impact. The program is entering year three of a phased roll-out plan, and seeks to add a highly skilled, motivated, and strategic-thinking Associate Director to support this process.

The Associate Director will work closely with the Ryan Family Executive Director for Salve Compass, Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Mission Integration, various design and project teams, and members of the departments that support this strategic initiative. The Associate Director will be responsible for executing various aspects of this signature undergraduate experience to advance the University's vision for this strategic initiative. This will involve developing processes with internal stakeholders as well as establishing key relationships with student groups, faculty, and staff.

BASIC FUNCTION:

The Associate Director for Salve Compass will serve as the primary project manager for various elements of the overall Salve Compass program, in addition to serving as the director of the Compass Summer program for sophomores and juniors. Working closely with the Ryan Family Executive Director for Salve Compass, the Associate Director will support the continued development and rollout of the program while remaining committed to the desired program outcomes, student development and success.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serve as the primary project manager for the new Co-Curricular transcript for Salve undergraduate students utilizing the Campus Groups platform. Collaborate with the Director of Student Engagement to launch this initiative for students in the 2024-25 academic year. Compile and develop reports on student progress through Salve Compass as needed.

Manage logistics and oversight of Compass Summer program operations. Partner with Residence Life, Sodexo, and faculty facilitators to ensure successful execution of programs. Organize student application process and develop communication plan to provide regular updates to student participants.

Organize and facilitate monthly Compass Summer meetings for facilitators.

Hire, train, and evaluate student staff as requested for Compass Summer programs.

Assist with continuous development of a distinct brand and identity for program communications and products, ensuring accurate and consistent messaging across program communications. Manage the marketing initiatives for student programming related to Salve Compass utilizing university communication platforms such as digital displays, Campus Groups, flyers, and program Instagram account.

Identify, develop, and maintain key metrics that represent success and student outcomes through Salve Compass.

Support a leadership philosophy that values diversity, equity and inclusion and promotes teamwork and our shared Mercy values.

Represent Salve Compass to the broader University and serve on various program related committees, university-wide events, and task forces as appointed by Executive Director.

Demonstrated ability to work in a demanding fast-paced customer service focused environment while managing multiple complex projects and compelling priorities is essential.

Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to a wide range of audiences.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships, foster collaboration across diverse groups of constituents, and inspire progress towards shared desired outcomes.

Strong presentation skills and success with facilitating a wide range of meetings.

Strong project and process management skills and ability to manage/balance multiple large-scale projects simultaneously.

Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills and the ability to perform complex tasks and prioritize multiple projects.

Commitment to and demonstrated success with incorporating continuous improvement principles to program operations as well as an ability to guide and support others to do the same.

Excellent student development training; ability to mentor and motivate students.

Strong computer skills, including MS Word, MS Excel, and Canva. Ability to learn university operating systems and web-based platforms through provided training.

Job Requirements:

Required:

Relevant BA/BS degree required

Five to seven years of increasing responsibility in administration or relevant experience is required.

Demonstrated commitment, knowledge, and application of student development and student leadership theories to foster student success.

Previous supervision or management of student leadership groups is essential.

Understanding of and commitment to the Mercy, Catholic mission of Salve Regina University.

Must be willing to flex schedule as needed when programs are running.

Preferred:

Master's degree in higher education, student affairs, or related field preferred.
