The Associate Director for Community & Cultural Engagement will assist in overseeing the center’s operations, programs, and initiatives aimed at fostering community engagement and celebrating different cultures. This role requires strong organizational skills, a commitment to community empowerment, and the ability to work effectively in a diverse and dynamic environment.Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Director and team members in planning, developing, and implementing programs and initiatives that promote cultural understanding, community cohesion, and civic participation.Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with community stakeholders, including cultural organizations, local leaders, educational institutions, and residents.Provide supervision, guidance, and support to program and education coordinators involved in center activities.Assist in managing the center’s budget, financial resources, and facilities.Support marketing efforts to promote center programs and initiatives.Develop and oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of cultural celebrations and events.Continuously improve community and cultural engagement at the University of Utah.Support Director in creating committees and advisory boards for cultural celebrations and events.Oversee and create event planning outlines for staff.Assist in monitoring and evaluating program outcomes and impact.Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic plans for the center.Assist in developing curriculum for Cultural Education programming.Facilitate and lead discussions, panels, and educational programs for staff and faculty.Support office coverage and be willing to cover for professional coordinators if needed.Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration, a related area, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Six years of progressively more responsible management experience; and demonstrated leadership, human relations and effective communication skills also required.Master’s degree in Business Administration or related area preferred.Preferences

Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Educational Leadership, Political Science, Education Culture & Society, Business Administration or related area preferred.Experience executing and facilitating discussions, panels, and educational programs.Experience working within a higher education or college campus setting.Additional Information
