$60,000 to $72,000 including an excellent benefits package.Job Summary:The Associate Director for Leadership and Outreach is part of the Leadership Team of Student Governance and Leadership, participates in staff supervision, setting department goals, and ensuring continuity and quality customer service between University departments and the community. Additionally, serves as a professional advisor responsible for organizing, directing, and maintaining the day-to-day operations of marketing and communications, and assessment in conjunction with elected and appointed Associated Students of the University of Utah (ASUU) student leaders.This role acts as a liaison between internal and external constituencies involved with department services, programs, and activities and will report to the Director of Student Governance and Leadership.Responsibilities:Advises the ASUU Marketing board, including working with student leaders for all types of outreach mediums (photography, videography, graphic design, etc.).Oversees, implements, and evaluates all advertising, marketing, public relations, and communications regarding ASUU and its activities.Analyzes the effectiveness of outreach efforts and adjusts strategies as needed to improve engagement.Establishes and maintains collaborations across campus and in the community.Oversees the design and maintenance of the ASUU website.Manages ASUU Volunteers, connecting students with opportunities to get involved.Directly supervises the Programming Advisor and provides support to student programming boards.Advises the ASUU First Year Council, ASUU Student Resources Board, and other ASUU boards.Manages annual student leader orientation and ongoing training.Provides leadership and guidance for student-led participation.Coordinates student leader training on best practices and policies.Maintains relationships with campus partners and departments.Manages hiring, onboarding, and offboarding processes for student leaders.May assist in office support and participate in university committees.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration, or related area, plus five years of progressively responsible management experience; and demonstrated leadership, human relations, and effective communication skills required.Ability to work effectively with a variety of constituencies including students, parents, faculty/staff, and community organizations is required.Strong knowledge of graphic design, social media, and marketing strategy is essential.Preferences:Master’s degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education Administration, Marketing, Psychology, Social Work, or Technology, with over six years of progressive experience preferred.Special Instructions Summary:Please include in your cover letter how you have demonstrated supporting student leadership development.Additional Information:The University of Utah values candidates who have experience working in settings with students and patients from all backgrounds.
