Job Summary

Under the direction of the Counseling Services (CS) Associate Director/Clinical Director at Student Health & Counseling Services (SHCS), this position provides campus programs on education, multicultural concerns, and prevention. Provides trainings to Counseling Services trainees in an APA accredited internship and APPIC-member postdoctoral program. While this position will support all UC Davis students, the focus of this position is to coordinate and provide outreach services to students from the African diaspora. Works as part of a multidisciplinary team. Complies with professional requirements of SHCS and UC Davis policies and procedures as well as all State and Federal professional legal requirements.Department Purpose

Student Health and Counseling Services (SHCS) provides primary care, mental health, acute care, laboratory, pharmacy, health education and counseling services to registered UC Davis students. SHCS serves approximately 300 patients per day during the school year. The mission is to provide campus health and wellness resources that enable students to successfully achieve their academic goals and life-long wellness. SHCS has approximately 180 staff including managers, senior professionals, professional and support staff, student employees, interns and post doc residents. SHCS is accredited by AAAHC (Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care), IACS (International Accreditation for Counseling Services), and APA (American Psychological Association). SHCS .Minimum Qualifications

Masters clinical/counseling degree and licensure is required (e.g., LMFT, LCSW, LPCC).Masters therapist applicants are governed by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences and are required to possess a valid California license.OR

Masters therapist applicants possessing a valid license in another state must obtain California licensure within 30 days of job offer.Current CPR certification.Experience providing culturally relevant services to students from the African diaspora.Experience working with individuals from diverse socio-cultural backgrounds.Experience establishing professional work relationships.Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a university counseling service with strong student service orientation.Knowledge of ethical, legal and university standards and regulations.Position Information
