Duties

As a Health Communications Officer you will:

Serve as the lead strategic advisor for communication and marketing in the programmatic area; coordinates and/or manages all communication and marketing activities within the organization.

Lead or manage research and/or evaluation activities related to health communication and marketing.

Provide critical expertise, management, and oversight to a wide range of complex and inter-related activities.

Integrate the communication of public health protection, promotion and disease prevention messages on topics for promotion to internal and external audiences, including setting policies and procedures to maximize the delivery and impact of health information to community, state, national and international partners.

US Citizenship is required.

Males born after December 31, 1959 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.

May be subject to a Background/Security Investigation. Security clearance level may differ from the position announced when certificates are shared.

One-year probationary period may be required.

This position may be subject to a Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Time in grade (TIG) must be met within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.

This position has 20% supervisory duties; candidates must also have demonstrated or shown the potential to develop the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities. Applicants should describe any previous experience or responsibilities which could be used in relation to the supervisory requirements of this position.

This position may be subject to the OGE Financial Disclosure requirements of the Ethics in Government Act of 1978 (P.L. 95-521).

In accordance with Executive Order 12564 of September 15, 1986, this position may require a Drug Test and be subject to Random Drug Testing.

Qualifications

To qualify at the GS-15 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level, which must include the following experience: leading the planning, implementation, management, and evaluation of public health communication and marketing programs and campaigns.

Education

Copy of your transcripts or equivalent documentation is required for positions with an education requirement, or if you are qualifying based on education or a combination of education and experience. An official transcript will be required if you are selected.
