Positions filled from this ad will be located in the Statewide Prosecution Unit--Orlando Office and/or the Statewide Prosecution Cyberfraud Enforcement Unit-Orlando Office. These positions are based in Orlando, but applications received from any geographic region are welcome.Primary Responsibilities:Statewide Prosecution Orlando Office:

This is a general prosecution position seeking an attorney to prosecute multi-circuit criminal enterprises, with a particular need in the areas of Organized Fraud, Investment Fraud, Insurance Fraud, Crimes Against the Elderly, Identity Theft, Retail Theft, Narcotics, and Racketeering with related predicate acts.Cyberfraud Enforcement Unit-Orlando Office:

This position will focus on the prosecution of crimes related solely to Cyber Fraud. This includes any crimes of fraud where cyber spaces, computer network systems, or smartphone apps were used as a main mechanism to further, commit, or facilitate the fraud. This also includes crimes where cryptocurrency is a main feature of the case.Qualifications:This position requires as a prerequisite to employment a degree of Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and membership in the Florida Bar.Membership in the Florida Bar and three (3) years of criminal trial experience.An attorney employed by the Office of Statewide Prosecution serves as an Assistant Statewide Prosecutor and Assistant Statewide Grand Jury Legal Adviser, under the direction and supervision of a Bureau Chief Assistant Statewide Prosecutor.Preference may be given to candidates with Criminal Prosecution experience.The Work You Will Do:

Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:Reviewing and evaluating evidence for prosecution of criminal cases.Submitting all necessary data and recommendations to the Chief Assistant for intake decisions to accept or reject cases for prosecution.Advising and assisting the investigating agency in the completion of investigations and preparation of cases for prosecution.Making charging decisions based on all relevant and material factors available, in consultation with the Bureau Chief Assistant.Preparing and filing charging instruments.Representing the State at bond hearings.Representing the State in pre-trial motion practice and at all calendar calls of the court.Representation of the State at trial on the charges.Establishing and maintaining contact with the Assistant Attorney General assigned to handle appellate matters.Conducting and memorializing post-case review sessions with the investigating agencies and appropriate supervisors.Maintaining proper documentation, according to Office policy, of all work performed.Assisting the Statewide Prosecutor in the formulation of legislative priorities for criminal justice reform.Traveling, as required, to perform the investigative, litigation, and training functions of the Office.The Benefits of Working for the State of Florida:
