Apply for a Graduate Lead Position at the Center for Community Engagement to advance Scholarship and Learning.Essential Functions:John Macikas, CCESL Student Programs Manager, seeks a graduate lead to support CCESL’s student programs, which include the Community-engaged Fellows program, the DUGC Scholars program, and the Puksta Scholars program. In these programs, students receive support as they engage in collaborative work and community-engaged scholarship with communities on a variety of social justice issues.Position Expectations:Attend weekly 90-minute staff meetings and weekly 1-to-1 meetings with their supervisor.Support community-engaged work at DU by serving as an ambassador of community engagement, including attending and supporting CCESL events, tabling to raise awareness of CCESL, supporting recruitment for CCESL programs, and giving presentations to departments/units, student organizations, and classes.Provide general support in CCESL’s day-to-day operations, as needed.Fulfill the responsibilities corresponding to the specific role, listed below.Program Planning:Provide program feedback and thought contribution to Student Programs manager regarding program goals, content, structure, and activities.Attendance, Support, and Facilitation at Meetings:Scholars meetings – Fall: biweekly Mondays 4:00pm-5:00pmCCESL and other events as assignedSupport:Physical set up and tear down of rooms for meetingsCreation of materials, slides, and handouts for meetings/eventsTake notes for important questions or action itemsFacilitation:Plan and lead relevant portions or entirety of select meetingsGive feedback about meetings/trainingStudent Support and Mentorship:Meet with select CCESL students for 1-to-1sBuild relationships with and support CCESL students inside and outside of meetings (e.g., in-office)Administrative Support:General communication to students of upcoming meetings, events, and action itemsManage student information and databasesSupport with CanvasOther duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Excellent oral and written communication skillsStrong attention to detail and ability to set and meet deadlinesGood organizational skillsCommunity/civic engagement or community organizing experienceCommitment to social justice and anti-oppressionRequired Qualifications:All graduate students enrolled for the entire 2024-2025 academic year are eligible to apply.Standard office environment.Unexpected interruptions occur often, and stress level is low to moderate.Noise level is quiet to moderate.Physical Activities:Use of standard office equipmentTime Commitment & Work Schedule:10-15 hours/week for Fall, Winter, and Spring Quarters, with the potential to continue over Summer 2025 and in future academic years.Graduate Leads are expected to create a weekly schedule each quarter with most hours occurring in-office and during normal business hours.
