The Neuropsychologist's responsibilities include assessing, evaluating, diagnosing, and treating brain-based disorders, exploring different treatments and their effectiveness on diminishing brain functionality, and researching to advance our understanding of brain-based conditions that impact cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning. To be successful as a Neuropsychologist, you should have a thorough understanding of neuroscience, psychology, psychopathology, and research ethics. You should be dedicated, analytical, and detail-oriented. Neuropsychologist Responsibilities: • Researching and experimenting to answer questions about the brain's structure and functions. • Conducting experiments on brain functionality. • Assessing and evaluating the symptoms of brain injuries or abnormal brain functioning, such as strokes, Alzheimer's disease, or dementia. • Devising experimental treatments for specific brain injuries. • Carrying out tests of mental faculties and overseeing PET scans, MRIs, and other scans. • Assisting patients to reach their treatment goals. • Advising and consulting on the development of pharmaceutical drugs that could affect central nervous system functions. • Performing evaluative duties and offering expert opinions in a forensic context at legal proceedings. • Participating in conferences and seminars to keep abreast of recent developments in the field.
