Overview: The Federal Senior Project Manager plays a pivotal role in leading project execution and governance for key Federal Solutions Group (FSG) accounts, including but not limited to NASA, Blue Origin, and NSA. This position is responsible for end-to-end project oversight, ensuring financial accountability, quality assurance, and maintaining high levels of client satisfaction across a broad portfolio of federal projects. The Senior Project Manager is also tasked with fostering a culture of mentorship, innovation, and business acumen within their team, while aligning with Diversified's strategic goals.

What Part Will You Play? As a Federal Senior Project Manager, you will be instrumental in expanding Diversified's footprint within the competitive Federal sector. Your role will be to lead and manage federal projects from conception to completion, ensuring that project teams are delivering exceptional results, on time and within budget. You will identify client needs, create tailored account strategies, and propose cutting-edge Workplace and Media Solutions to meet and exceed client objectives.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Governance and Collaboration: Drive ownership and accountability across projects, ensuring strategies and initiatives are properly executed through collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Project Pipeline Management: Review sales pipeline from delivering regions, assess team workload, and assign high-probability projects post-conversion.
  • Project Monitoring: Oversee Top 10 and Bottom 10 projects to ensure adherence to schedules, financial targets, operational standards, and project management quality.
  • Business Alignment: Collaborate with Business Units and Regional Sales Teams to ensure alignment in forecasting, P&L support, and strategic planning for major accounts such as NASA, Blue Origin, and NSA.
  • Portfolio Accountability: Manage a regional portfolio, ensuring all corporate KPIs are met, including financials, revenue recognition, utilization, and customer satisfaction.
  • Budget Oversight: Serve as the owner of your team's cost center and budget, ensuring financial efficiency across all projects.
  • Process Enforcement: Advise and enforce minimum project management activities as outlined by the PMO, sharing best practices and identifying gaps in governance.
  • Team Development: Lead and mentor Project Managers, coaching them toward career growth and helping increase overall team performance and skillsets.
  • Client Engagement: Collaborate with account management to foster strong client relationships, ensuring that Diversified project management practices are trusted and scalable.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, handling internal and external escalations to resolve issues before they impact project success.
  • Pre-Sales Collaboration: Partner with Account Executives and Sales Support to review and approve project costs during pre-sales estimations and outgoing proposals.

Complexity of Role:
  • Highly collaborative, working across multiple teams and clients.
  • Oversight of multimillion-dollar projects across FSG accounts, including but not limited to NASA, Blue Origin, and other government accounts.
  • Leading a team of approximately 15 individuals, fostering their development.
  • Requires strong financial acumen, risk identification, and mitigation strategies to protect project profit margins.

Decision-Making Authority:
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve issues quickly and efficiently, with high levels of decision-making authority for project execution.
  • Capable of navigating complex project requirements, resolving conflicts, and handling escalations with federal agencies.

Physical Working Environment:
  • Willingness to travel to remote sites for client meetings and project oversight.
  • Ability to work on-site at secure or classified federal locations when required.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs and meet the physical demands of on-site AV project management.

What Do We Require From You?

Educational Background:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Project Management, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred.
  • ITIL or similar certifications in service delivery or process management are a plus.

Experience:
  • 10+ years of project management experience, with at least 5 years in the AV (Audio-Visual) or IT sectors.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale AV/IT integration projects, preferably for federal agencies such as NASA, the NSA, or other government entities.
  • Experience working with Federal Service Group (FSG) clients or other government contractors in the AV/IT industry.
  • Expertise in handling multimillion-dollar, high-complexity projects with tight deadlines and significant stakeholder involvement.

Technical Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of AV systems, network infrastructure, and technology integration (such as video conferencing, digital signage, sound systems, control systems, etc.).
  • Familiarity with AV/IT standards, compliance, and regulations for federal projects (e.g., NEPA, OSHA, FAR, and FISMA).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Proficiency in project management software (such as MS Project, Smartsheet, or Primavera) and financial tracking tools.
  • Knowledge of federal procurement processes and government contracting (GSA schedules, FAR/DFAR).

Security Clearance:
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance or equivalent, depending on federal client requirements.
  • Prior experience working in secure environments with classified information is preferred.

Leadership and Management:
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and subcontractors.
  • Ability to mentor and develop project managers and team members, enhancing overall team capabilities.
  • Experience in resource allocation, team scheduling, and ensuring staff availability for federal project needs.

Client and Stakeholder Management:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships with federal clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to understand federal client needs, create tailored solutions, and ensure project outcomes meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Proficiency in preparing and delivering detailed project status reports, presentations, and documentation to government stakeholders.

Financial Acumen:
  • Experience managing project budgets, cost tracking, and financial forecasting, ensuring profitability while adhering to federal requirements.
  • Understanding of project financial metrics, such as revenue recognition, utilization, and margin management.
  • Ability to review and approve project estimates, proposals, and change orders.

Problem-Solving and Decision-Making:
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve issues quickly and efficiently, with high levels of decision-making authority for project execution.
  • Capable of navigating complex project requirements, resolving conflicts, and handling escalations with federal agencies.

Our compensation ranges reflect the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The pay details below range from our lowest geographic market up to our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience depending on the position offered, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
