The Hilb Group is currently seeking a motivated and ambitious Senior Accountant to join our team. This position will report to our agency located in Richmond, VA. The ideal candidate will be motivated to succeed, is well organized, able to prioritize, and able to work well with a team. This is an in-office position.
Responsibilities:
- Support various aspects of the accounting and reporting processes by collaborating with teammates to prepare, review, and analyze financial results and statements.
- Assist in month, quarter, and year end close process.
- Provide technical accounting support on various transactions, including application of ASC 606 and 340.
- Maintain Balance sheet and Income statement analytics and flux analysis monthly.
- Perform/review Income Statement accuracy analysis and correct recording of accounting requirements.
- Complete the company's quarterly compliance certificate and assist with correspondence to our creditors.
- Maintain Debt and Hedge Models and supporting schedules.
- Record and track the Companies fixed and Intangible Assets
- Assist the Company with purchase price entries.
- Interact with external Auditors in support of the annual financial statement audit.
- Assist in formally documenting transaction processes and related controls.
- Provide support to controllership team on special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in public accounting or Corporate Accounting/Finance
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (required)
- Very strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Demonstrated project management skills, ability to prioritize among multiple deliverables.
- Self-motivated and effective team player
- Candidates should have a proven track record of utilizing technology to continuously improve efficiencies in financial processes.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a plus, not required
