Data Center Operations Manager - Washington DC

Cogent specializes in providing businesses with high-speed Internet access and Ethernet transport services. Cogent's facilities-based, all-optical IP network backbone provides IP services globally.This position is for Monday-Friday, mostly during regular business hours work, but this would also be an on-call “24/7/365” position and will also require overnight work at times.Responsibilities:Manage local data centers for Cogent in the Washington DC Market.Provide excellent service to Cogent’s data center customers.Have knowledge of facilities engineering and critical equipment in the data center (Electrical, HVAC systems, Power systems such as UPS Units and Generators, etc.).Perform various types of work orders and customer installs.Respond to issues, emergencies, and other matters that require a dispatch to a site.Document daily operations for the data centers.Applicant must:Have experience in the Internet industry, specifically with facilities engineering and data center operations.Be able to multi-task and manage daily operations.Have knowledge of cabling and basic internet processes.Be flexible to travel to other data centers in North America.Be proficient in laptop/computer skills, typing, and data entry.Qualifications:Provisioning Work Orders (Allocate/install cabinets, cross connect to circuit, test circuit, etc.).Managing/Scheduling/Overseeing maintenance & repair work with vendors/contractors.Maintaining Databases & Spreadsheets.24/7 On-Call Position: Must handle and respond to urgent events.Work with programs such as PowerPoint, Visio, Excel, etc.Compensation:
Pay Range: $80,000 - $100,000COVID-19 Policy:
