The primary responsibilities are to provide finance and business partner support for businesses in the Transition Portfolio, with a key and current focus on VSS.Joining the Portfolio Management team provides an opportunity to work on dynamic and highly visible projects that shape and contribute directly to the strategic direction of Medtronic.We believe that when people from different cultures, genders, and points of view come together, innovation is the result — and everyone wins. Medtronic walks the walk, creating an inclusive culture where you can thrive.ResponsibilitiesDirect all aspects of financial analysis, accounting, and reporting of the VSS business, including ownership of the WW P&L.Partner directly with the VSS General Manager to build and meet global business objectives. Analyze, interpret, manage, coordinate, and communicate business performance. Utilize measurement to drive action towards business objectives.Develop and implement performance measures that focus on key business drivers (financial and non-financial) to support long term performance and strategic objectives.Partner directly with functions that support the VSS business, including those that report directly to the General Manager. Provide financial leadership and analytical support to cross functional teams and committees.Direct strategic and annual operating plan, forecasts, and monthly closing processes. Coordinate the development of and assist in the implementation of contingency plans to achieve annual plan or forecast commitments.Partner with the CFO of Portfolio Management to identify opportunities for margin improvement. Provide guidance and consulting to Portfolio/Region teams working to identify margin improvement opportunities. Assist in the P&L and cash flow models and planning for the execution and contribution of these opportunities to the Transition Portfolio.For businesses, products, and opportunities contributed to the Transition Portfolio, provide financial oversight and leadership consistent with the responsibilities described for VSS.As a key member of the Portfolio Management team, this role will support financial and strategic analyses on special projects as they arise.Must Have: Minimum RequirementsBachelor’s Degree with 10+ years of work experience in Finance and/or Accounting with 7+ years of managerial experience OR an advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of finance experience with 7+ years of managerial experience.Nice To Have (Preferred Qualifications)Strong quantitative analysis and problem-solving skills, and high degree of initiative and influence management skills.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and lead others.Ability to effectively communicate at all levels and across the organization.Business partnering: Identifies a broad range of business issues and provides leadership in the decision-making process, actively participates in managing the business and establishing its strategic direction.Finance and accounting knowledge: Demonstrates a broad and in-depth understanding of Accounting and Finance. Understands, interprets, and applies accounting principles and processes to ensure compliance with legal, business accounting, and ethical standards.Financial analysis: Organizes and structures business information to identify specific risks and opportunities. Applies quantitative and qualitative factors, skills and business experience, to arrive at meaningful conclusions and recommendations. Develops innovative alternatives and solutions when issues arise.Strong organization and prioritization skills with ability to multi-task and manage several projects simultaneously.Planning & reporting: Accurately monitors and projects the organization’s financial performance. PR) locations (USD): $168,800.00 – $253,200.00.This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
