About the RoleDoorDash is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Safety team. This dedicated group is entrusted with providing both external DoorDash customers and internal users through a comprehensive catalog of Trust and Safety measures, focusing on safety incident prevention, incident response and support, and beyond. We firmly believe that innovations on Trust and Safety measures lead to an enhanced customer experience, which drives growth and success for all parties on the platform.

As the Engineering Manager, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to propel the group forward. Leveraging latest technological advancements, including Gen AI, you will lead the development of best-in-class Trust and Safety experience on one of the largest gig platforms in the world.

Lead and grow a team of exceptional backend and client-side engineers delivering end-to-end engineering solutions.

Collaborate with Product Managers, Business leaders, and key stakeholders to determine the team's roadmap and vision, and manage execution against that roadmap.

Provide architectural guidance and professional development for a team of 9+.

Encourage innovation, teamwork, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, and outside-of-the-box thinking.

Oversee the hiring process for your team, in partnership with recruiting, to grow a diverse and inclusive team.

We're excited about you because you have…

BS, M.S., or PhD. in Computer Science or related field.

2+ years of experience in people management leading full-stack teams (backend, web, & mobile) of 5+ engineers.

8+ years of industry experience.

Extensive experience as an engineer in a fast-paced, product-focused development environment.

Experience with distributed system design, system scaling, and performance optimization.

Hands-on leadership and strong product intuition.

Humility - willing to get into the details and open to feedback.
