The Associate Director of Childcare Compliance, under the supervision of the Early Childhood Director, is responsible for adherence to NC Childcare Licensing, Buncombe County sanitation regulations, Star Ratings, and JCC policies for the JCC’s childcare programs: Shalom Children’s Center, Hilde’s House, JCC Kids After-School, and Camp Ruach. The Assoc. Dir. of Childcare Compliance supports the mission of the JCC by developing programs that celebrate Jewish culture, strengthen Jewish identity, and build inclusive community.Responsibilities

Develop the Learning Management System to upload and track all staff training and certification requirementsDevelop and implement a system to track program and child outcomesDesign and perform new staff onboarding/training and in-service training as it relates to JCC policy, licensing, sanitation, and ITERS/ECERS/SACERS star ratingsAudit adherence to JCC policy, licensing, sanitation, and ITERS/ECERS/SACERS star ratingsMonitor the development and posting of weekly/monthly lesson plansPerform indoor and outdoor health and safety checksCreate and distribute allergy/medical action plansCoordinate monthly emergency drill schedules with the Facility and Security DirectorCoordinate creation and audit of complete employment records and child files, including sending notices to staff when requirements are lapsingWalk with the licenser when they are on-siteCommunicate with families to enforce sick child exclusionsAdministration

Report program statistics and outcomes to Executive Director and Board of Directors as neededDevelop and maintain procedures, systems, registration forms, and other relevant records related to departmentPerform record keeping and reporting related to NC Childcare Licensing and Subsidized Childcare VouchersAgency Responsibilities

Maintain and enforce agency policies and proceduresServe on agency committees as appropriateAttend and support agency-wide events as requestedCommunity Responsibilities

Build and maintain a collaborative relationship with representatives from Buncombe Partnership for Children, NCDHHS DCDEE licensing, and Buncombe County sanitationRequired Skills/Abilities

Experience overseeing licensing and sanitation requirementsOrganizational skillsAbility to relate positively and constructively to children, parents, and staffProficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and OutlookQualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in education or related fieldEdu119 or equivalentExperience

Four years experience in licensed childcareCertifications

NC Qualifying Letter (criminal background check)North Carolina Early Childhood Administration Credential Level I, or ability to obtain it within one year of hirePediatric First Aid and CPR certification (within 90 days of employment)Substitution

Associates degree in education or a related field and 6+ years experience in licensed childcareORMaster’s degree in education or a related field may be accepted as an equivalent to a maximum of two of the required years of experience.Additional
