A 179-room hotel, spa and resort in the shadow of the San Jacintos, Ace Hotel & Swim Club transforms a former Howard Johnson into a mid-century desert oasis. Home to a stargazing deck, a couple of very deep pools and vibe from here to the horizon line.

The General Manager oversees the day-to-day hotel operations in keeping with all our home office and brand standards. They maximize profitability as well as guest and team member engagement. They communicate with relevant press, key business partners and Atelier Ace, as required. Individual ensures the execution of all operations related functions and supports and advises other functions in reference to Ace Hotel brand standards and style. Act as key contact for Atelier Ace communications. Develop and implement strategies that deliver products and services to exceed the needs and expectations of the hotels target guest and our employees, thus providing a return on investment to the hotels investors. Are directly responsible for all Finance, Sales & Marketing, Housekeeping, Front Office, F&B, Events and Engineering functions, ensuring the quality of the guest experience, of development and implementation of the operational business strategy and individual departmental plans, ensuring every area of responsibility meets the agreed targets. Smoothly partner and interface with all other areas to ensure a positive guest experience and act as Ace Hotel brand representative both internally and externally.

CORE FOCUS & ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESQualified candidates must be able to satisfactorily complete the following responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsible for providing inspirational leadership by motivating, guiding and developing all related team members and encouraging them to contribute towards the overall success of the business.

Create a guest responsive culture by ensuring all guests issues are addressed in a satisfactory manner and that guests are leaving the hotel feeling they have received value for their money.

Approve hotel department budgets, defining and directing changes, as required. Facilitate the preparation of hotel budgets and forecasts for home office submission and approvals.

Ensure all departments are aware of what is going on within the hotel. Lead the weekly operations and morning stand up meeting ensuring that regular ongoing communication is present throughout the operation.

Review forecasts, labor reports and productivity reports.

Work closely with the team to ensure the safety and security of both staff and guests.

Direct hotel actions required maximizing profitability, increasing service levels and improving team member satisfaction.

Ensure hotel implementation and compliance of Ace Group International LLC policies and procedures as well as brand standards.

Oversee the sales and marketing activity and results.

Participate in sales and marketing strategy meetings. Participate in efforts to secure business, as needed.

Lead lead staff/department heads to ensure overall profit, service and team member engagement goals are met or exceeded.

Act as guest advocate to ensure top level of service is consistent with Ace Hotel standards.

Facilitate hotel meetings (i.e. Lead Staff; Staff Meeting; All Team Member Meetings, etc)

Hire, supervise, coach, counsel and conduct performance evaluations for department heads and key personnel.

Undertake regular internal inspections of the hotel to ensure the companys assets are well maintained and protected and style and feel remains consistent with Ace Hotel standard.

Work with the Revenue Manager to maximize hotel performance.

Conduct annual performance reviews, setting objectives and expectations against departmental balanced scorecard targets.

Ensure hotel policies are administered fairly and consistently, corrective action and documentation are completed according to Human Resources and hotel procedures.

Ensure that all incidents are investigated and documented properly.

SUPPORTING FUNCTIONSIn addition to the core focus & responsibilities, the candidate is expected to complete the following duties:

Develops the skills and abilities of direct reports.

Monitors high potential department heads and team member activity and ensures their growth within the company.

Communicates with hotel owners regarding results and aligning strategic plans for the future development of their hotel.

Communicates with a variety of corporate departments regarding implementing standards, procedures and policies. Provides feedback on company-wide initiatives.

Attends industry meetings and participates in industry organizations.

Participates in and maintains active community relations.

Participates in and ensures the hotel maintains active college relations.

Participates in corporate activities and meetings, as requested.

Travel on behalf of their respective Ace Hotel property.

Input and retrieve information from computer systems for file maintenance, correspondence and preparation of forecasts.

Ability to provide high quality communication and be technologically sound with Google Suite applications, Opera POS and other hotel systems.

Prioritize and organize work assignments, have timely follow up and execution.

Have superb time management skills.

Maintain complete knowledge of all hotel services/features and hours of operation.

Other language, mathematical, and reasoning abilities as outlined below.

Ability to comply with physical demands as outlined below.

Knowledge and understanding of Atelier Ace, Ace culture, and initiatives

Ability to perform critical analyses.

Excellent presentation skills (written & oral).

REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEFour-year college degree or equivalent experience that provides the knowledge skills and ability, preferably in hospitality management, business management, or related field. Must have 5 years minimum experience showcasing successful track record in hotel operations and leadership. Hotel general management experience preferred. Must have a proven track record of successes in achieving revenue and service objectives. Proven ability to recruit, motivate and train a team of professionals. Expertise gained working in a service and quality centric environment with high quality food and beverage experience is preferred and considered an asset.
