We know that our success leads to better outcomes, changed lives, and a more equitable society for generations to come.Advanced Technology PracticeOur Advanced Technology Practice is strategically positioned to support, expand, and diversify federal agency research and development (R&D) support to engineering and technology clients. Clients in this practice area are typically for-profit technology companies, ranging in size from single person startups to Fortune 500 companies. A significant component of this practice involves working across a broad scope of engineering and technology areas including industries of the future such as Clean Energy, Advanced Manufacturing, and Biotechnology.Primary Duties & ResponsibilitiesDevelopment and Communications:

Support the design and implementation of Practice marketing strategy and external communications. Analyze current client base and develop metrics to better position M&Q to compete in the marketplace .

Support content development and presentation delivery for externally facing presentations. Assist in designing and implementing novel business development approaches and growing the Practice’s professional network of partners and key contacts. In collaboration with the firm’s Managing Director of Business Development, provide proposal coordination and management for RFP responses.Federal Funding & Policy Analysis:

Proactively gather, analyze, and monitor strategic intelligence on the federal funding landscape and track and analyze Advanced Technology funding initiatives through the annual appropriations process. Identify key areas of interest to small, medium, and large technology corporations and collaborate to plan and execute the practice’s intelligence gathering and analysis to address these issues. Oversee development of Advanced Technology Practice Grants Matrix and Advanced Technology funding analyses.Client Services Support:

Leads or collaborates on select client projects. Provides consultative advice to client teams on scoping and pricing client contracts and projects. Leads internal consultations with client teams for innovative and pilot projects. Support existing client services including research and content creation for client projects including training engagements; presentations; webinars; written communications; and summaries of funding opportunities.’’*This description reflects M&Q leadership’s assignment of essential functions; it does not proscribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.RequirementsBachelor’s or Master’s degree; a degree related to our technology areas or government relations is preferred.Three to five years of prior work experience. Special consideration will be given to professionals that have worked in a proposal development and/or project management position. Federal agency proposal development experience is ideal.Excellent project and proposal management skills, including the ability to report and deliver information to diverse audiences, identify and communicate grant solicitation requirements, review technical content, document and manage project specific processes including file management, and provide formatting edits to documents.Advanced project management and proposal development skills demonstrated through experience or certifications such as PMP, APMP, or others.Superior research skills, including critical thinking, problem solving, synthesizing information, and attention to detail.Excellent computer skills in Microsoft 365 Office Suite, including relevant applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. SharePoint and Microsoft Project Online experience is a plus.Compensation & BenefitsNormal work hours are 8:30 am through 5:30 pm Monday through Friday EST.Location: in-office (Washington, D.C.).
