A Process Control Engineer Co-op/intern at the Biron Mill is primarily responsible for the support of optimization of the mill's process measurement and control systems. The mill's control systems are connected to a variety of sensors and actuators that continuously measure, regulate, and control the pulp and paper manufacturing processes and equipment. The work of a Process Control Engineer crosses all manufacturing areas and disciplines including project management, Control System Engineering, Quality Control System Engineering, DCS/PLC programming, loop tuning, electrical, mathematics, and of course, pulp & paper science.

Job Responsibilities:

Demonstrate safety as a core value and establish a safe work environment by actively leading the safe execution of work.Utilize various troubleshooting techniques to resolve production and process problems.Assist Operations with day to day process issues, troubleshooting, equipment performance, quality and production optimization.Preform simple and complex programming tasks on a variety of DCS and PLC platforms.Continually work towards advanced process control strategies in order to maximize control system effectiveness to drive department and mill performance and enhance profitability.Attributes for Success

Pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering.Proficient with Windows, databases & historians.Skills Required:

Ability to handle multiple time-sensitive projects and issues.The ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, both hourly and management.
