Status: Hourly

FT, PT, PRN: Part Time; 20-29 hours per week; accrues PTO (paid time off)

Shift: Monday - Friday; Day Shifts starting at 8AM

Location: Hybrid role - Works from home and within the community of Asheville after completing training

Position Summary:

The Volunteer Coordinator recruits, assists in training, and managing volunteers for various Four Seasons service projects that address specific program and community needs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Assists the Employee & Volunteer Solutions department with adhering to best practices, ensuring compliance, and that processes meet the needs of the department and organization;Assists the Director of Employee & Volunteer Solutions in expanding the Four Seasons Volunteer Program by recruiting, training, placing, supervising, and supporting volunteers.Maintains documentation related to volunteer information, assignments, and activities including volunteer personnel files and database in accordance with agency, Medicare, and Joint Commission regulations.Responsible for the development, placement, and supervision of PFS Volunteers in Buncombe, Haywood, and Madison CountiesResponsible for Agency Support Volunteers in the following settings for Buncombe, Haywood, and Madison County: administrative, baking, community outreach, facilities, Faith Community Representatives, fundraising, maintenance, sewing and special events.Responsible for training and onboarding of new volunteers in all regions, including video training.Responsible for ensuring all volunteer hours in are reported accurately.Assists in planning and implementing social activities and support/educational in-services for volunteers;Assists in writing newsletters, and general correspondence to staff, volunteers and community members;Assists Director of Employee & Volunteer Solutions in planning and implementing a volunteer recognition program.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of human resources functions and/or operations;Knowledge of administrative skills;Knowledge of HIPAA privacy rules and regulations;Consistent data entry skills;Excellent attention to detail and accuracy;Proficient in MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher;Excellent organization skills;Excellent interpersonal skills;Excellent written and oral communication skills;Working knowledge of multi-media marketing techniques;Demonstrates critical thinking skills;Excellent customer service skills;Ability to work independently with minimum supervision;Ability to be flexible and accommodating;Ability to focus on details;Ability to use good judgment, take direction, and ask for help when needed;Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines;Ability to take initiative;Ability to interact with various departments throughout the organization;Ability to work flexible hours, if needed;Ability to participate as a team player to coordinate projects;Ability to plan, prioritize and coordinate multiple projects;Ability to drive to and from various locations.Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in social science, education, public relations, behavioral science, or business, or equivalent experienceExperience:

Two years' experience in volunteer coordination or related fieldExperience in public speakingLicensures & Certifications: (if applicable)

Valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurancePhysical Demands:

Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time; in excess of four hours per day;Constant use of hands to finger, handling, or feeling; reach with hands and arms; and talk; or hear;Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds;Specific vision abilities required are close vision and distance vision with the ability to adjust focus.Other Duties

Assist Director of Employee & Volunteer Solutions in providing education to Four Seasons staff on the value and role of volunteers and on working effectively with volunteers;

Assist approved staff, by coordinating, or participating in, community events and speaking engagements as an informed representative of Four Seasons;Provide appropriate communication, written and verbal, to the Director of Employee & Volunteer Solutions on status of current and upcoming projects;Adapt to meet the needs of the Employee & Volunteer Solutions Department as determined by agency goals and initiatives;Ability to be flexible in working hours, including weekends or nights, as necessary;Perform other duties as assigned.
