Position OverviewThe Solar Repair Technician Lead position leads a team in repairing and maintaining roof and ground-mounted solar systems. This person will follow all company and safety policies and procedures.

Essential Job FunctionsLoad and unload company vehiclesMaintain appropriate stock on a truck to complete service repairs and double-check that material for the job is loaded before leaving the shopInstall, repair, and maintain rooftop and ground-mount solar PV systems including: flashing, racking, module-level power electronics (Micro inverters/Optimizers), array wiring, and junction boxesWork on roofs, ladders, crawlspaces, attics, and other residential and commercial areasManage, lead, train, and motivate a crew of 1-3 techniciansAccurately pull material based on the construction plansAbility to test, commission, and troubleshoot system componentsAbility to read schematics and follow technical installation instructionsAccurately upload required information to our work platform / CRM / and other applicationsWork in a fast-paced and demanding work environmentMaintain a clean job site, work truck, and warehouseCompetently install safety equipment and enforce safety policiesComplete quarterly safety gear and tool audits on company vehiclesComplete weekly vehicle inspection reports on company vehiclesReport directly to the Senior Manager of Post Install with any job-related issues or employee issuesInteract with clients in a respectful mannerPerform other related duties as requiredFollow all company and safety policies and proceduresObtain OSHA 10 safety training (course provided by employer)Obtain 18-Hour Solar PV Boot Camp through HeatSpring (course provided by employer)Overnight travel will be requiredRequired Tools and EquipmentPersonal hand tools required include screwdriver set or multi-tool (11 in 1) driver, wire strippers, diagonal wire cutters, impact-rated socket set, socket adapter, tool belt, bag, or backpackWeather-appropriate attire with at least one piece of Purelight Power Company apparel worn at all times when on the clockWeather and job-appropriate footwearSupplied Tools and EquipmentSafety harness and rope w/ rope grab and shock absorberFall protection anchors and devicesPower tools including impact, drill, and circular / reciprocating sawIPadDepartment / Direct SupervisorOutside Operations / Senior Manager of Post-InstallRequirements:

Required skills and abilitiesExtensive knowledge of PV equipment and installationBe comfortable climbing a ladder and working on a roofBe comfortable with working outside in all weather conditionsGood communication and interpersonal skillsGreat attention to detailStrong mechanical aptitudeTeam-orientated with proven leadership skillsGood attitude with a willingness to learnAbility to maintain a professional attitudeAbility to maintain company toolsMinimum QualificationsMinimum 1-year experience as a solar installerProficient with hand and power toolsAbility to read blueprints and schematicsAbility to lift to 50 lbs repetitivelyAbility to climb ladders and work on roofs up to a 45-degree pitchInsurance Approved driving record and driver's license required

Compensation details:

26-30 Hourly Wage
