Job Summary/Company:Sparks Group in collaboration with its client, a non-profit organization, is searching for a professional and skilled Tax Accountant in DC. This Hybrid role will report to Sr. Tax Manager and works closely with the Tax team. The accountant will have experience with Domestic Tax, International Tax, Goods & Services Tax, Property Tax, Sales & Use Tax, State Corp Tax, Unclaimed Property within a Vertex environment. Responsibilities:Responsible for preparing and filing state and federal tax returns, as well as sales and use tax filings for domestic and international markets.Manage business registrations, permits, and licenses. Maintain organized workpapers and adhere to document retention policies.Handle tax-related journal entries and reconcile tax accounts in the general ledger.Utilize Vertex to accurately post transactions and conduct research on tax issues, summarize findings, and suggest appropriate actions.Conduct in-depth research on complex international tax matters. Interpret and apply laws and regulations to analyze tax issues and propose alternative solutions.Oversee production processes and maintain key tax information within Vertex.Requirements:
Minimum of 7 years of accounting and tax experience, specializing in federal and state corporate, income, property, sales and use taxes, value added tax, goods and services tax, and/or unclaimed property reporting.Must hold a Bachelor's degree in accounting or possess five years of relevant experience with a Master's degree and/or CPA certification.Experience working with multinational and/or non-profit organizations is strongly preferred.Proficiency in conducting research on both domestic and international tax matters is required.Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, with knowledge of PeopleSoft or NVISION preferred.Experience with Vertex software is required.

Pay Range: Hourly $50.00 to $55.00
