Insurance Specialist III (Complaint Specialist) Responsible for handling written inquiries and processing Property and Casualty consumer complaint files. Work involves analyzing complaints against insurance entities to assure that all possible violations of the Texas Insurance Code, and/or Texas Administrative Code are addressed; that complaint processing procedures are consistently followed; and that all performance measure requirements are completed appropriately. Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. This position: Analyzes and resolves insurance complaints Performs workflow duties such as indexing, composing, processing, classifying, and routing documents Provides coverage for other TDI helplines Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: This position requires: Sixty (60) college hours Eighteen (18) months experience in insurance or a field relative to assignment Note: Education and experience relevant to position requirements may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis. Additional job details: This position may be eligible for hybrid telecommuting. Employees must have a secure, dedicated workspace with Internet service, ability to maintain a reliable consistent work schedule, and be available for weekly meetings and group collaboration via Microsoft Teams and other applications during regular business hours. This position requires demonstrated knowledge of: Insurance Rules and statutes pertaining to insurance Computers, including experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel software applications This position requires demonstrated skill in: Communicating and working effectively with all levels of employees and the public Problem solving, decision making, and meeting deadlines Composing and providing technical correspondence to consumers, insurance company representatives, agents, and others Handling escalated customer calls Reviewing complex insurance documents This position requires the demonstrated ability to: work independently and as a team player communicate effectively be flexible and able to handle multiple tasks; and meet daily deadlines.
