This position requires excellent courtroom skills, the ability to represent clients compassionately, and the capability to handle complex financial matters related to family law cases. The attorney will be responsible for providing legal counsel, advocacy, and representation to clients while maintaining the highest ethical standards.Responsibilities:
Represent clients in family law cases, including divorce, child custody, child support, spousal maintenance, and property division.Prepare and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.Conduct legal research and analyze case law relevant to family law matters.Provide compassionate and professional counsel to clients, guiding them through emotionally challenging situations.Appear in court for hearings, trials, and mediation sessions, demonstrating excellent courtroom advocacy skills.Negotiate settlements with opposing parties and attorneys.Collaborate with financial experts, forensic accountants, and other professionals to handle complex financial issues related to asset division and support.Maintain accurate and detailed records of client interactions, case progress, and legal proceedings.Stay up-to-date with changes in family law statutes, regulations, and case law.Requirements:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Active license to practice law in the state of Colorado.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience practicing family law.Strong courtroom experience, including trial experience.Demonstrated ability to handle complex family law matters involving financial assets and child-related issues.Certifications and Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.Membership in good standing with the Colorado State Bar.Family law certification or specialization preferred.Skills:
Courtroom Advocacy : Excellent trial and courtroom presentation skills.Legal Writing : Strong writing skills for drafting legal documents, pleadings, and motions.Research : Proficient in conducting legal research and analyzing case law.Communication : Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues to clients.Negotiation : Ability to negotiate settlements effectively with opposing parties and counsel.Financial Acumen : Sophisticated understanding of financial matters in family law cases, including asset division and support.Client Relations : Compassionate and empathetic approach to representing clients in emotionally sensitive family law matters.
