To perform comprehensive and highly professional advising and planning with business clients in a wide range of topics and assigned specialized areas; lead training and project development activities for businesses with other resource partners; and implement outreach events to promote center services. To provide technical business development skills to the department and clients and develop and maintain resources partnerships and potential funding sources.Description of Duties

Advises small, established and/or growth-oriented business clients, offering advanced, professional advising and planning assistance to develop growth strategies and increase knowledge in marketing, financing, operations, and other business areas.Provides client with related research to analyze industry and markets and support their growth planning efforts.Develops and presents content focused on advanced, business growth topics to meet the educational needs of small business clients planning for growth which include trade, procurement, commercialization, and/or human resources.Establishes and maintains resource partner relationships as well as potential sponsors for client support and center growth.Leads event and project planning activities that include logistics, speaker recruitment, oversight of materials, and evaluation to provide clients with additional, needed resources and growth opportunities.Provides advanced training on leadership, management, and advanced advising services to departmental staff.Enhances program brand by presenting center services at outreach events such as expos, trade shows, and other public events; and participating in public relations activities, collaborative projects, and committees.Leads staff-team projects to enhance efficiencies and effectiveness of the center(s) and individuals.Participates regularly in professional development opportunities to stay current on specialty of concentration area and better assist business clients.Tracks and evaluates training results and client progress, concluding in business growth and economic impact.Provides appropriate client, project, and center reports and uses these to manage client growth activities and program development.Performs other duties as assigned.Supervision

General supervision from assigned supervisor.Direct supervision of assigned support staff.Required Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University in Business, Public Administration or a closely related field.Preferred Education

Master’s in Business or Public Administration.Required Experience

Four (4) years of experience in business, management, marketing, consulting, training or a related field.Preferred Experience

Knowledge of accounting, finance, and lending procedures and business plan development. Project Management experience.Equipment

Use of standard office equipment. Proficient in Microsoft Office.Working Conditions

Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Primarily assigned to an Office environment. Position includes 40% travel within the South Texas area.Other
