Position Summary:
The Senior Auditor assists in the performance of internal audits, normally as the leader of audit fieldwork, supervising other members of the team.
The Senior Auditor is generally the individual responsible for direct communication with management during the audit.
The Senior Auditor also performs audits individually, reporting directly to the Audit Manager.
The Senior Auditor performs compliance and fraud investigations, system development projects, and external audit assistance.
This position acts in a confidential capacity to assist or aid the Director, Associate Director, or Manager in the department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Executes financial, operational and compliance audits within the framework of IIA standards, integrity and ethics.
Develops audit programs, conducts planning and assists Manager with draft report writing.
Develops and maintains strong work relationships with auditees and is committed to continually improve audit satisfaction.
Assists Audit Manager in the development and administration of department policies, procedures, tools and audit methodologies.
Attends regular training and CPE classes, providing in-house training as required.
Verifies compliance with various hospital policies & procedures, government regulations and contractual obligations.
Verifies, interprets and analyzes account data and ascertains the validity and reliability of financial reports.
Completes assignments within time constraints and deadlines; monitors progress of team in order to complete assignments on time and within budget.
Supervises staff auditors during field work, as necessary. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Experience
Generally requires 5 to 7 years of related experience.
Education
Bachelor's degree in related field is required.
Skills:
Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines.
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with critical thinking and professional composure.
Ability to exercise sound and independent judgment. Knowledge and skill in use of job appropriate technology and software applications.
Credentials:
CPA, CIA or CISA designation is preferred.
