Dotted-line reporting to both Zone Manager - Neighborhood Donor Centers and Operations Manager Mobiles, the Donor Collections Coordinator has responsibility for assisting in the coordination and supervision of all administrative and technical activities pertaining to the collection of blood and blood components in both facility and Mobile settings.

Provide broad range of administrative and technical support to the Managers and all Collections staff.Maintain a high level of communication with Managers/Supervisors and Collections staff.Team Development

Leads team-building activities to foster strong communication and comradery.Conducts regular one on ones with team members.Coaches team members on navigating difficult conversations and situations with peers and customersPerforms NDC and Mobile site visits 3 - 4 times per week to observe Collections Operations, discuss metrics and provide coaching for improvement.Member of the Employee Engagement CommitteeCustomer Experience leadFocus on improving the service we provide to our customersObserve blood drives to identify service weaknesses. Coach Managers and Supervisors to improve drive management and staff performance.Assist with customer service complaints and complimentsDrive changes and improvement with the Customer Experience Program

Lead internal inspections of NDC and Mobile locations along with peer Collections Leadership group.Act as back-up Manager/Supervisor or staff as needed.Initiate counseling of staff on performance problems; coordinate with staff's supervisor or manager to ensure appropriate actions are taken.Create and send weekly status reports to Zone/Mobile Manager on facility/drive visits, error rates and investigations and observations of staff.Participates and supports internal Collections Leadership Program.Supports Zone/Mobile Managers with Interviews and monthly/bi-weekly staff meetingsAssist with promotional events and activities.Supports Zone/Mobile Managers with community initiatives, employee relations, corrective actions and improvement strategies.Work with Donor Advocacy for successful collections and troubleshooting of all Testosterone, Hemachromatosis, Therapeutic, Autologous, Directed donors, reentry testing and wellness testing.Make donor eligibility determinations when unusual donor medication, medical condition and travel answers are encountered by collections staff. Donor Collections Coordinators will work with Medical Services , staff of directly with donors to determine donor eligibility.Oversees Collections quality system activities such as root cause analysis, corrective action planning, and process improvement development.Liaison for external audits and inspections including, but not limited to QA, FDA, AABB, LFB, EU, Korean Green Cross.In conjunction with Zone and Mobile Managers, manages collections teams to ensure all quality goals are met and to implement operational changes to maximize center efficiency and quality.Enforce The Blood Center's policies on EEO, Affirmative Action and Safety/Health.Other duties as assigned.We need someone who has:

High School Diploma or GED (Associate Degree from an accredited college or university is strongly preferred); minimum three (3) years experience required as a supervisor in blood banking environment including phlebotomy and apheresis skills; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience must include working in a position involving frequent interaction with the public and the use of customer service skills.Valid Texas Driver's License and acceptable driving record.Computer Literate: E-Delphyn, Donor ID, Microsoft Office.Must be able to work irregular hours and days.Excellent customer service skills.We prefer:

Associates degree from an accredited college or universityCertification in PhlebotomyEMT Certification or licenses in a related field a plus.TX CDL license with Passenger endorsement a plus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and blood and/or blood components, as well as any other biohazard materials. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock, fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Job duties involve an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood with a risk of exposure to Hepatitis and HIV.
